  1. Talk about pouring fuel on the fire..... So it sounds like he told an outright lie just to cover his arse a little while longer. DEFINITELY belongs on the Probation List!
  2. On 8/5/10, he updated everyone that he was changing printers due to the production delays, and the books would be out soon. Then he made the announcement on 8/14/10 that he finally had a release date. Then, on 9/15/10 he made the final announcement books were being distributed. Around 11/21/10, folks started asking if anyone received their copy yet. Only one forumite (Misternotsonice) stated he had received the book. Now I like Jay, but staying on top of communicating with your buyers is one of the biggest expectations on this forum. Otherwise, how do we trust each other? So, what's the stance here? I'm leaning towards either he gets his butt on this forum and touches base with all his pre-order customers or he gets recommended for the probation list. Enough is enough on leaving people hanging, and everyone tolerating it because it is our good buddy Jay. +1 It sounds like this has dragged on WAY too long already.
  3. You're welcome Steve. And thank you!
  4. I have a bunch of double cover books but still no ASM's.
  5. Found a couple more 80's books this week that I never knew existed. Anybody got any info on either of these? Did Solson ever find any significant comic talent through these books?
  6. Just picked this one up at a local comic shop for a buck.....
  7. The CGC 8.0 copy below that I got from seanfingh last year is only slightly trapezoidal but it's still there (6-7/8" along the top edge and 6-3/4" along the bottom edge). So only about 1/8" difference.
  8. Low grade to me always depends on price point, but I will definitely be keeping an eye out to fill some gaps and hopefully pick up a deal or two...what titles are you putting on the copping block? I'm still hesitant to break up my mainstream Marvel complete runs (FF, Avengers, Hulk, Daredevil, X-Men, Thor, etc.) but I might do that too. Definitely considering the off-shoot titles such as Marvel Tales, Marvel Super-Heroes, Marvel Spectacular, Marvel Spotlight, Moon Knight, Hero for Hire and so on. Also considering breaking into some of the complete DC runs I have (Metal Men, Metamorpho, Mister Miracle, Teen Titans, Flash, Lois Lane, Atom, Aquaman, etc.). Well folks, I've finally decided to do it. I'm going to start breaking up all of my Marvel and DC runs and sell off all of the low to mid grade stuff except for the key issues. I could use some extra money right now and I would also like to spend some money getting a bunch of books slabbed. Any requests on which runs you would like me to work on first? I have about 100 to 120 complete runs of Marvel and DC titles from Silver Age to Modern Age. About the only untouchable runs are anything Spidey related.
  9. Yep, nothing but pure junk here. Nice books Andy! It just proves that there are still good buys out there. (thumbs u You seem to have a knack for picking up those way undergraded books on eBay.
  10. Only in my dreams will I ever see a book like this in my own collection. Stunning book!
  11. Found these rather eclectic books at a local comic shop today. Don't know much about them but maybe some boardies can share their knowledge of them.
  12. Just saw this post and I thought I'd show these: Just picked them up earlier this year. All with the white logo.
  13. Last time I sent something to the States it was 5 lines, plus one custom form. Not much of a hardship really. Only took me an hour to do, and that included 45 minutes to walk to the post office. Took me 8 months to walk back though.
  14. Anyone who has a job that keeps them "unavailable" for 3 weeks at a time shouldn't even be thinking about buying or selling comics on this chatboard. To each their own. All I'm saying is that if someone is truly unavailable for 3 weeks at a time and doesn't have the time to either ship books that were sold or pay for books that were bought, then why even bother? It seems like they're just setting themselves up for a bad reputation.

  17. I'm entertaining the idea of breaking up all of my Marvel and DC Silver and Bronze Age complete runs (except my Spidey related stuff), selling off all of the low to mid grade stuff and reinvesting the money generated in strictly higher grade Marvel slabs. So what do you guys think?
  18. Now where have I seen those books before......
  19. I've run into that before too (where Overstreet doesn't list certain books as Whitmans) but it appears that neither of these books are considered rare or scarce according to Doug Sulipa's website.
  20. Finally got my home PC and scanner setup in the new rental house in OKC. I received these books back from CGC last week (some will be for sale later today):
  21. Hello everybody! After spending the last 1-1/2 weeks with my mom and stepdad ( ), my wife and I have moved into our rental home for the next year and I should have internet access for the home computer as of tomorrow morning. I received a shipment of slabs last week and will be having another quick slab sale sometime this weekend - hopefully tomorrow night but maybe not until Saturday. I still have to scan the slabs and still have a lot to do moving wise so more than likely it will be Saturday. The furniture and appliances should show up tomorrow night. Shark (thumbs u
  22. Thanks to every one of you. You've ALL been great to work with!
