  1. More info: 1st Print: Batman logo in Red with a White Background 2nd Print: Batman logo in Red with a Yellow Background 3rd Print: Batman logo in Yellow with a Red Background Only 8 2nd prints in CGC 9.8, and here's the only 3rd Print in 9.8 (next highest is a 9.2): I just picked up 9 copies of the 1st printing of Batman #497 pretty cheap in an online auction. Hopefully, they're all 9.6/9.8 candidates.
  2. Went to a local yard sale this morning that had advertised on Craigslist. They didn't advertise comics or anything like that but I took a chance and went there anyway. Soon as I got there I asked if they had any comics, magazines or video games. A teen-age kid goes inside and brings out a stack of comics. I bought 7 of them (70's Marvel and DC stuff) for $7.00 but the best was yet to come. One of the moms and one kid goes inside the house and brings out ALL of these game systems: 1) Atari CX-2600A Video Computer System 2) Nintendo NES Game System 3) Super Nintendo Game System 4) Sega Genesis Game System They set them on a table and it appears that most everything is there (no controllers with the NES and the Super Nintendo and Atari both need AC adapters). I'm also assured that everything was in good working order. At first I'm thinking I only want the 2 Nintendo systems. So I ask her what she wants for those. She says "Give me $20.00 and you can have all 4 systems". I couldn't pass that up of course and now have all of the systems and components cleaned up. Here's pics of everything: And yes, we need to have our carpets cleaned.
  3. Do you think he knows of our amusement over this? He's in a zone alright - The Twilight Zone.
  4. You normally have to supply your own blank cover comics to the artist. On rare occasions the artist may have blank covers you can buy at his/her table or you could pick one up from another vendor if you're at a con.
  5. Here it is. That definitely looks like Stan's signature. (thumbs u
  6. Oh no! I didn't even know these existed. That just means I have even more Lady Mechanikas to buy!
  7. Just got mine back. Books were submitted on March 12, 2004.
  8. That must have been Dave's standard way of signing books - doing it on interior pages. Not too long ago I posted a couple of Dave cover books that I bought in Dallas that had his signature on an interior page also.
  9. Color me curious. I'm not sure what we're talking about here but....
  10. All that in one book? Yeah, the lack of pictures was a tad concerning but no red flags in the seller's feedback. It's a bit of flier but at that price, I figured what the hell. I'm setting my expectations pretty low though. Sometimes ya just have to roll the dice. Good luck...hope it's a good one!
  11. Once again, a very successful and mutually beneficial deal with Brian. Great guy to work with. (thumbs u
  12. I have never even seen one before, now I have, I want one, but judging by it's scarcity, I have no chance. There are 2 on eBay right now but they ain't cheap!
  13. Here's a couple more Whitman DC variants I picked up recently: DC Comics Presents #3 Superman #327
  14. Those price variants are too overbought. Get in on the bottom floor with DC Whitmans now! Prices for them are popping on eBay. I've been getting very strong results for auctions lately. I heard it three times today, at the local show, that the DC Whitmans were being asked for and getting hot.
  15. Guess I should learn to read All in fun. All in fun.
  16. Sweet books greggy!!! Was that so difficult? (thumbs u Or at least just quote 2 or 3 of the books....
  17. Hey, it is hard to just say "Nice books Greggy". You have to quote all his books or he will not have any idea what you are talking about. On a computer it doesnt really matter but on a iphone or iPad, DAMN it sucks!!! When he posts 30 books and then 5 people quote it, it takes my iPad/iphone like 20 freaking minutes to load the page and all the photos! Or Greg could not put as many books in one post as he does now.....
  18. Nope. You can also have CGC books shipped back via FedEx. I use it a lot because you get the books back faster (2-3 days vs. a week or more for USPS Registered Mail). It costs a little more but to me it's worth it to get the books back sooner. The fastest way to get books back from CGC is to pay for Fast Track with FedEx return shipping.
  19. *edit* wait, didnt you buy that from me? Don't believe so. I think this was part of a local buy back when I lived in northern Illinois. For the longest time I was sure I had one but didn't locate it until this morning.
