  1. A big THANKS once again to dscott for his work on my Heroes Con books. Very pleased!
  2. Good thinking! Modern. Slow or fast track? Slow, I take it this is normal... its been awhile since I subbed any. You'll usually see slow tracks hit Verified about a month after their Received date. I wouldn't worry just yet.
  3. As long as you show it here once it's finished Good luck!
  4. I hope that one is not mine! No matter, I'd still love the little bugger unconditionally. Oh please...you know yours is the best!
  5. I think they're awesome, see... Bone 1 CGC SS 9.8 That Bone #1 CGC 9.8 SS is awesome! Congrats Joel Elad!!! (thumbs u (thumbs u How many Bone 1s have sketches on them? I never really looked at the census for Bone #1 before, and quite frankly I'm surprised there are so few SS copies. Only 9, soon to be 10 once Joel's 9.8 is added. Why are there so few? With there being so few, maybe they all belong to boardies? Mine is one of the CGC 8.5's. It has a Fone Bone and Ted the bug sketch. Does this become the best/most desirable Bone book now? I think it becomes the best/most desirable Bone book on these boards. You're on a CGC message board, so people here are really into and appreciate CGC 9.8's. To me though, the best/most desirable Bone book is still Thorn: Tales from the lantern. They are tough to find in any condition, let alone high grade. Personally, I don't like the early issues SS'd, especially #1-5. They're simply too difficult to find as 9.8s with those darn black back covers. It's hard enough trying to find a copy without a non-witnessed signature to begin with (given that he signed so many back in the early days). I've seen four of the five blue label 9.8s from pics and/or scans. One of them looks like a 9.6 but the other three are fairly close to each other. Obviously, I'd choose one of these over the SS. I've grown less and less desirous of the Tales From the Lantern book as I've learned more about it. Would still like to own one but not at the prices they usually go for. I'm probably in the minority on this issue.
  6. I can't believe it was you who secured this...

  9. Modern Slow Track (SS) 6/26 - Received 8/4 - Verified I'm guessing SDCC took out a few business days last week because MST usually hit verified about a month after received.

  15. I assume you did not do fast track correct? You could always call and make sure everything is ok. No fast track. I figured it would take a few months, but I thought they would at least verify the order early on. Here were the results on my late 2013 submission: 10/16/13 - Received 11/11/13 - Verified 11/19/13 - Scheduled for Grading 11/20/13 - Graded 12/5/13 - Grading/Quality Control 12/16/13 - Shipped Forty one business days total for the above. Don't think it's time for you to worry yet. I have a current non-fast track submission as well that's been sitting on received since 4/2 and will probably stay there until May.
  16. As raw comics, #19 and #20 would be worth a little more than the others considering they weren't massively printed by Image...but not by much. I'd say you could at least double the money spent on grading fees if you hit a blue label 9.8 of #19-25 and probably cover grading fees if you got a 9.6. Anything below those grades will be a struggle until any hopeful news about the movie is released. Congrats on the #1! I'm sure that will help pay for a lot of that collection if you sell.
  17. Thankfully, he only charged in that one instance last year.
  18. This last one is my favorite. It's my very first blank sketch cover and I think it's pretty well done for a quick sketch. Thanks again to mschmidt for scoring this beauty!
  19. These "Crown of Horns" are so tough to get in 9.8 condition. Very proud of this one along with the new and CORRECT notations
  20. A pic of the aforementioned Bartleby:
  21. And with the #22 is where a few complaints come in. I requested that the graders put in a few label notations on some of the books in this submission which I'm very glad they did. However, a couple of these notations ended up being mislabeled. "1st appearance of Bartleby Bone" should be "1st appearance of Bartleby" (the baby Rat Creature who the cousins befriended in the story; obviously not a member of the family of their family). I noticed the error on my account before they were graded and let the CGC guy know the what the problem was. He said "We will get it fixed."
  22. Finally getting around to posting these. Had a few clunkers in the bunch but scored 6 that are definite keepers. Big shoutout to mschmidt for helping me get these done. First one is a #19:
  23. I'm finally getting around to organizing my recent pickups so a long overdue KUDOS to mschmidt. Does wonderful work every time he's asked. Will post the results soon in the Bone Appreciation Thread.
  24. Non FT Modern Signature Series submission: 10/16/13 - Received 11/11/13 - Verified 11/19/13 - Scheduled for Grading 11/20/13 - Graded 12/5/13 - Grading/Quality Control 12/16/13 - Shipped 41 business days ain't bad.
