My opinion: Superman vs. Muhammad Ali
Reality: Superman vs. Muhammad Ali
Better book: Superman vs. Muhammad Ali
Reality 20 years from now when no one remembers the athletic, cultural, and political importance of the incomparable Muhammad Ali: Superman vs. Spider-Man...hey wait, why is Spider-Man a white guy named Peter Parker? Where's Miles? Comics began the year Amazon launched comixology and those Marvel movies came out, didn't they?

Do you think it's worth trying to g et my 1.0 Archie #1 cleaned up a bit/or pages worked on, and resubmitted to CGC? They graded it a decade ago and I do think it could be a 2.0! I looked into Hero Restoration, but I'm just not sure...
Really shopping around for the answer you want, eh? Take a hint - there's a reason you keep getting the same response over, and over, and over again. Posting the same question in a different thread isn't going to change the response of anyone with any sense. Your book is appropriately graded. The brittle pages mean you'd be a selfish fool to resubmit a book of such importance for re-grading (as CGC and everyone who responded to your other post has already told you). Be happy with your book, or sell it and try and get a higher graded copy.

Reach out to the magazine's current editor, Andrea (andrea@rue-morgue.com). I was good friends with her in high school, and she's very approachable. I'm sure she'll point you in the right direction.

You keep bumping this thread too soon.
Sorry Mike. Thought I was waiting the obligatory 24 hours, didn't realize I'd run afoul of the rules. I'll be more careful moving forward. Thanks!

Only 24 hours left to get this book! It took forever for one in this grade to pop up on MCS, C-Link, eBay, or elsewhere - so don't miss your chance! People are buying and holding this book!

I think their influence is best measured in different spheres.
Creatively? Kirby, hand down. But I think his creativity, his role in early Marvel, and nostalgia do a lot of heavy lifting for his legacy. I don't think his art work and style would be remembered or revered the way it currently is if not for his early creative work.
Artistically? Adams, hands down. Not too many people are trying to draw like Kirby nowadays - but everyone tries to draw like Adams. Kirby's work would look old and out of place in almost any comic today - Adams was still pumping out high quality work until recently.
Is Joe Schuster more influential a creator than Kirby? He co-created Superman, without whom superhero comics might never have taken off the way they did. Is he more influential as an artist than Adams for the same reason?
I think it's a bit of an apples to oranges comparison.
All of that said, I'll back my boy Neal every day of the week!

Will also entertain site offers until a bid is placed.

Some more recent pick-ups:
First Adams/O'Neil TEC team-up:
The start of Bronze-Age Batman? (Love this cover incidentally):
This book is so hard to find that I scooped this one up the second it became available. I want one in a higher grade if anyone has any leads:
Gotta get this thing out of this god awful holder of completely unknown origin that the previous owner had this book in! ;)
The only thing cooler than Hellgrammite is this cover!
Batman being pushed out of a plane over Washington DC? If that doesn't make you want to read a comic, what cover will?
Silly cover #1:
Silly cover #2 (one of Adams' own favorites):
That's it for now - but more to come soon I'm sure.
Incidentally, looking for higher grade (8.5+) copies of TEC 405 and World's Finest 199 if anyone has one they're willing to part with!

Watched it last night expecting to hate it - not a Robert Pattinson fan, didn't like the aesthetic of the trailers, sick of screenwriters/directors missing out on the essence of Batman (looking at you Nolan and Snyder). Gotta say, I was blown away how good it was. Not used to seeing a take on an early/younger Batman, but I really feel like they nailed it. Loved how outwardly and vocally averse Batman was to guns (unlike Batfleck). Loved the batmobile. Loved just about every actor in pretty much every role. Was totally fine with the runtime - felt like I was binging my favorite show (incidentally, this would be an awesome 10 episode HBO show). Between this and Peacemaker, I'm hopeful for DC for the first time in a long time.

For comparison, here is an item I purchased on eBay through the GSP - I have not yet received it. Woodhaven, NY to Ottawa is 450 miles.
One week later - still no package. I hate GSP!

Tips for board members selling to Canadians via the boards, eBay,or other means:
1. Don't use GSP;
2. Ship via USPS. Other carriers charge Canadians brokerage fees, and always assess duty. USPS packages are processed through Canada Post/Canadian Border Services, no brokerage fees are charged, and duties are often waived;
3. Charge us MORE for the above noted services. We're used to paying more for shipping, and will happily do so up front if we have some certainty about the final cost to us, and as long as we know we're not getting ripped off by eBay, UPS, or FedEx.
4. Use the extra money you charge us to make standing in line at the Post Office worthwhile, and to offset any losses from opting out of GSP.

Just to give a snapshot of the timeframes of some recent board purchases. 3 packages received this week from the US, 2 yesterday (both shipped on Mar. 8, so 1 week to get here) and 1 received today which was mailed on Friday...so less than a week). Almost like US domestic shipping, eh?
For comparison, here is an item I purchased on eBay through the GSP - I have not yet received it. Woodhaven, NY to Ottawa is 450 miles.
Which is the bigger Bronze Age key in terms of value and historical significance: Superman v. Spider-Man or Superman v. Muhammad Ali?
