  1. how refreshing.....an autobiography! Even i'll admit that was a funny post.
  2. Yeah, I've been caught up in hype before. Probably explains why as a kid I owned a pair of Reebok pumps and MC Hammer pants. Leaning on this crutch as an adult is just lame. You said it yourself "unknowing, unfamiliar". Sorry, that's not my problem. That's a you problem. Get knowing. Get familiar.
  3. First Men In by Ed Ruggero about the 82nd Airborne. The Given Day by Dennis Lehane (probably best known for writing Mystic River, Shutter Island and Gone Baby Gone)
  4. As a child of the '80's it was all Star Wars, GI Joe and Transformers. Going along with the football theme here, I loved the NFL Action Team Mate figures. Very hard to find now and most of the ones you find are damaged or missing the boxes/accessories. I remember spending hours just smashing these guys together. Like Megos, many came in both boxes or on cards. They had African American figures too, which are pretty rare today. They were about 7 or 8 inches tall I think and they had removable helmets too which was really cool. What was really cool is each figure came with a full set of decals so you could change the numbers to whatever player you wanted.
  5. Is that the copy you bought from me all those years ago? or another one? Either way it is a beauty. I'd love to get a nicel low grade copy of that one day I think it's a different one. It's been quite a few years since I traded yours away. (thumbs u Here is a picture of Richard on that fateful day when he scored the quartet of Fawcett grails from me. My we were so much younger then what a great picture. that's awesome.
  6. Along with #3 (which is the toughest) and #5, I think a nice, unrestored #13 is really tough. I've only seen a couple.
  7. Nice! Any Rangers 15 is a good 15. Pretty tough book in my estimation.
  8. Gorgeous book. Where the heck did you even find it?
  9. Honest and one of the nicest chaps around. But he'll kick the krap out of you MMA style if you with him.
  10. That's the rumor. I just want to cut Roy's hair. I think it would be a hoot.
  11. Andy has sold me a great book. He's also bought books from me and pays super fast. He also lives in a galaxy far, far away from me. I give him the (thumbs u
  12. #3 is just an awesome cover. I know of quite a few folks with it on their radar. Unfortunately there just aren't many around. I'm still holding out hope for a warehouse find.
  13. Yes....and Jumbos, and Jungles, and Rangers too....!!!!!!!!! I almost bit when Parker showed his rivet run. Each week is getting harder than the last to not bite the bullet and add some to the collection.
  14. Cross posting this here. I gotta say that all of these Planets are making it hard to stay focused.
  15. You can usually work something out. I've found Frank is the most readily available and can give you terms that usually help. I did a book that was 4 figures once that was 20% down and 3 payments. I've done a $300ish book that was 50% down, 50% within 45 or 30 days, something like that. They can be flexible when they want to.
  16. Posted in gold already but these books don't get posted often so thought I would share here as well.
  17. I'm sorry but I don't see why one should result in the other. I've just spent months helping DC without even charging them, just to help with their history. I don't need to come on here to be bullied. Certainly not all over again, for sure. I'm not sure what happened. I'm also not sure why people can't let things go and move on. Was anything you did 5 years ago so egregious as to still be bickering about it? I suppose that question is open to anybody. However, sort of defeats my point of moving on. Wonderful accomplishment. I personally think water under the bridge should be just that after 5 freaking years. But I wasn't here so what do I know.
  18. WOW! What a book!!! It's still listed on Clink. Maybe i'll offer 1 meeeelion dollars for it.
