  1. Love them all! That #2 is awesome. The v3#5 looks familiar. CLink awhile ago? If so, you were the one!!!
  2. Too late for that. ps: How about showing off some of that Super Mystery run
  3. And of course as we know now, some of the GLs, including #1, turned out to be restored. Don't know much about all this but I do know there are a bunch of super sweet, early Green Lantern Mile High's coming up in the next HA auction. A bunch from 3-26. Which does make me wonder where the rest of them are and if they've been ploded.
  4. It's the under-copy ( ) of the guy who's been providing me quite a few sweet Fights, including the 27 I bought a while ago. Turns out he does have a # 30. Here's hoping he wants to sell it Trades cheerfully discussed!
  5. You may want to contact board member walclark. Here's a link to his thread from this past April. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3938024&fpart=1 Big time GA books stolen (More Fun 52, Tec 38, Flash 1, More Fun 54, etc...) from his home in Tennessee. I never heard if there was a resolution.
  6. Sorry, but I believe that I am the new owner of the book. yep, I would have been if not for you Where was your last minute bid pal?
  7. Sorry, but I believe that I am the new owner of the book. So you're the one. Seriously, no reason for you to apologize. You didn't do anything wrong, just scored a good deal. I would've hoped for the same if I was on the buying end. (thumbs u
  8. Yeah, that SC22 that went for $1100 was mine. I bought it off ebay from another board member. I'm not sure who the buyer was but it was a great deal for them. Not so much for me. I was just really surprised by the final price. I didn't figure to make a big profit or even any profit at all as I had just gotten it not long before the Feb CLink auction. I just hoped to use the proceeds to go after a better copy. My math be off but after a 45% loss, I couldn't even take a run at the copy I wanted in the Heritage auction. Oh well.
  9. this one has been an interesting ride... I think most are confident that as the GL movie approaches, the book will "re ignite" and then, as most do, cool back down to some point (likely above current levels)... just the nature of the beast Based on my own transactions and others I observed, the initial run up last summer was due to long time collectors finally getting off their buts and getting a copy AND the initial wave of speculators/investors staking their ground. Once the prices jumped a bit it was all in for these two groups in trying to land any copies they could find, and as we have seen now it is a tough book in even 5.0 and above. We will probably see a slower creep this year and then have the "re ignition" Rick mentions next year as the movie hype begins. After that it will be interesting to see how far it actually pulls back, or if it can maintain AF #15 like momentum. I bought a copy a number of months ago, was a 4.0 with OW pages if I recall. Paid what I thought was a good price at $1700.00. Then I put it in that ing atrocious Clink February auction b/c I wanted to upgrade to a 5.0 I think that was on Heritage. Anyway, my book tanked (even with the better than average PQ). Went for $1100 and I took the biggest loss of my rather short collecting career. Still pizzed about the entire experience and completely soured on what was once one of my favorite books. I can live with losing money on books as I have done it a number of times. But to lose that much money on that book at that particular time. I'm still scratching my head over the whole thing.
  10. I just want to say "tell us WTF you agreed upon TO THE LETTER" You took it to the people and now the people want to hear the conclusion. You can't just use us for your own satisfaction and leave us hanging. That's not how a community works. As far as I'm concerned you are both on my probation list until time stands still if you don't cough up the details. Don't bother buying from me, nor will I buy from you. I'm happy that you came to an S & M type happy conclusion but someone give me my time back for 70 pages of selling research wasted by members agreeing in private that they aren't despicable to try to escape being put on the probation list in the end. You my friend need to chill out maybe go back and read it again cause you apparently missed alot, i said time and time again i got screwed and theres nothin i can do, i dont have the book and never will what more do you want?? As far as putting me on the probation list seriously grow up and dont worry i wont buy from you and you can do the same from me. I didnt make the resolution private at all You made the resolution private by not making it public, and from the way you have worded it you had no say in the resolution either and that is sad. BTW, don't worry because you're on my private probation list, not the forum one. (and I don't own any 'Tec 37"'s either.) It's too bad you can't get this angry at the seller because you do need to grow some if you want buy here or you are going to find more of your purchases walking away from you (but not from me) Night Matt boy That's a great attitude to have (thumbs u What is the Matt supposed to do? Can he get the book? No. Why slam the guy he did nothing wrong. He said there is no resolution he got screwed. What else do you want? Stop acting like a jerk, there is nothing he can do. When have you sold here? I don't think he's going to miss out on to much. He brought it to the people and now it is an issue for everyone who participates in the sales forum as buyer and seller. Everyone agrees he is being victimized and I'm giving him some tough love that he needs. He needs to man up and you need to stop bending over beside him. Now you have gone from this is vile to its OK to deal with this seller without any info and we are suppose to be ok with this because the victim says I give up? We deserve to know the details to make our own decisions regardless of whether he or you say the case is closed. Why can't he tell us what Yannis said he felt was an agreeable conclusion even if it was squat because he knew Matt would roll over? Are you one of the PM privy ones so its good enough for you to know but not the rest of us? I'm happy that you are satisfied but I like to draw my own conclusions not just the ones made behind closed doors. Wanting to see justice served in transactions here, even if it means the seller will find another book or give a discount for making a mistake, is important to me if this is to be a healthy sales community. As far as I'm concerned that's a great attitude to have (thumbs u even if you don't share it. Self-righteous much? Sorry..I agree with subliminal on this one..This was brought to a public forum and WHY the guy who got screwed out of the book should be public . So buyer pizz and moans ,or his friend does, then we want details and WE are the bad guys here? I think not.. When someone yanks a book after a deposit was made is wrong and no excuse would be acceptable IMO. And 8 mile..I did read this entire thread and there is no explanation.Funny how you were the guy with the lynching rope( and POLL I might add) but now have changed your tune all of a sudden? As far as the buyer saying "there is nothing I can do" thats a bunch of hogwash. You can put his azz up for Hall of shame induction as he should be .. I read the long thread about the guy with the Avengers scans etc ,etc...What makes him any different then this situation? All boardies were ready to hang this guy and most did. What if this guy would have come out on the boards and said "its a private matter" .. Even though it is in a public forum No way that excuse flies either..Wrong is wrong .. What is this? The fraggin' Da Vinci Code? It's not that complicated. Yannis did something not cool. That much is clear. Now choose to buy from him or not. WTF is the disconnect here? Like a bunch of yentas. Move on. edit: W/O more info I can't say if I would put Yannis on the Probie list or not. What I do know is that w/o more info, there's no way I would ever buy from him simply on principle.
  11. FT is right, for the guy who had the book in his sig (i think i know this person) and took it down.......man, it sure would be nice if he'd chime in with something. I know if it were me and I found out about this, I would not only be contacting the seller, i'd be front and center on these boards telling everyone that I was going to try and help fix the problem even if I wasn't the one who caused it. Oh the drama and shady dealings. It's becoming a daily occurrence. It makes me think of a Cameron Poe line "There's 2 men in this world I trust, one of 'em's me, the other's not you". OR, Jack Nicholson, "who can you trust, who can you trust?"
  12. Don't think i've posted anything in here for awhile. I picked all these up the past couple of weeks. Really happy to have the 15 off the wantlist. Took forever.
  13. I just read through all this, what a mess. If somebody called me a liar and I could disprove them, that's all I would be working on.....disproving them and making them look like the biggest fool ever. I would bring down a merciless, thundering, in your suck hole, smack down that might never end until I felt I got at least 5 pounds of flesh to boot. I haven't seen that happen yet so what should I think? This is not the kind of thing you dance, dangle or dipsy-doodle around. If he could prove beyond any doubt that this ain't the same book, he'd of done it already. Another one bites the dust? Who was it most recently? The Question and his pimp ride vs TOS 39? What is wrong with people? This place brings out the shady, liar in folks I guess.
  14. Big thanks to FH_MAN! for knocking two more off the want-list for me.
  15. Very nice. Although that Fight would be more at home in my collection so........ Just another example how my non attendance at shows keeps me from finding books I desperately need. Anyhoot, this one's on its way to me...
  16. I don't normally pimp my books all over the forums but this one is just too sweet not to. 4 years of searching and waiting for the right copy at the right price finally paid off.
  17. Thanks Steve! WHOO HOO! Redwings score with 1:19 left to play!!!! It's happy times in the hockeyguy household tonight.
  18. Thanks Bill. A 4 year wait finally pays off. A little consolation after striking out on all the Ranger books in the Feb Clink. Man, I am just feeling really good right now.
  19. Halle-f-ing-lujah! Finally, a book I have been after at a reasonable price is finally mine! Mine all mine!!!! And white pages!
