  1. Barton, what do you like so much about ASM 144? I do recall that Gwen shows up in the end I believe, but I don't remember the story at all.
  2. Welcome Brad, and you will find tons of every issue you listed.
  3. Bingo, the answer was, and is, just apologize sincerely, and take care of business going forward.
  4. Those are all amazing Barton, and the scans are great too. What settings are you using for those pictures, if you recall? I just got my A3 scanner working with my new PC. I left the dpi of mine at 300dpi, the brightness and contrast I went up 10% each, and when uploaded I set the hosted pictures to 1024 by xxx. I appreciate any hints, I'll soon begin scanning my collection again.
  5. ASM 114 is super tough I have discovered, in the upper grades I have watched for. Here is my best raw ASM 63, another tough black book.
  6. this is an awesome copy! Seriously. Yea, we can all love and appreciate HG books, but lets be real, if they could talk, what stories would those books tell? CGC 9.6 "Well, my owner came into the store and bought me and my four brothers. took us home and put four of us in a dark drawer. we were there for a very looooooong time" CGC 1.8 "My owner picked me up at the store, put me in his back pocket, we went and got ice cream, then his mom yelled at him for coming home after dark, so she grabbed me and threw me across the room!" Awesome, and dead on the truth. Thanks for the laugh, I'm smiling.
  7. I still say that's a rare #114, it's straighter than mine or his. (thumbs u
  8. Here's the public collection in the registry. Ghost Town's Spideys The image gallery
  9. I think Barton was just showing the next issues in order in the thread. I'm waiting for #62 to come along.
  10. You should watch a movie called "The Crew." It's about a bunch of retired wiseguys who steal a body from the morgue, shoot it and leave it in their hotel(raising rents), so they can afford to stay. The dead guy they pick was from a retirement home, and turned out to be an ex drug lord, with the grown son there in town. It's full of funny drug lord stereotypes, dumb crooks, etc. You might even cry. I watched it for the actors, and it turned out to be a great small movie. Richard Dreyfuss, Burt Reynolds, Jeremy Piven, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jennifer Tilly. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0198386/
  11. Yes, ideally place them inside, or on already "restored" books. That's my one SS book.
  12. Damn man so much hate, are people not allowed to like the man and want his signature? You're allowed, but you did ask for our opinion Well I was asking for your opinion if the book would come back a lower grade. not on how much everyone hates SS. We're all selectiver readers. Selective That's good, getting ready for old age and the spouse. I don't mind some signatures, sometimes, but only if they are very subtly and perfectly placed, on less than HG books.
  13. Sweet copy, ASM 50 is one of my very favorites. I used to look at any copies I could find of ASM 34, 50, 100, 121 and 122. That was in the late 70's when the last issue I had was about #150. I've owned several of each of them, but never over 9.2 until recently. Back then #129 was $10, since they were only a couple of years old.
  14. Beautiful Boston books, Barton. (thumbs u I like to see that there are other copies like that #31, with the cover wrap to the right instead of always the other way. Tough books.
  15. Thanks for the appreciation of the Boston copy of ASM 45. I've wanted a 9.6 of that for a while, I was surprised to get it in the HA live auction. That ASM looks great pictured. Submit that and I can sell you a mid grade raw copy for reading.
  16. That is true, and it has OW/W pages which is very rare for #11 in high grades. It looks better than my 9.2 OW copy. Well done,
  17. Make the picture resolutions the same first, but I'd prefer the 7.5 due to the cover wrap.
