  1. Nice Jason, the Twin Cities books are getting around. The 9.0 #6 just sold on eBay, for a great price.
  2. Thanks again Mike, I appreciate the book and the time spent on the other deal. Shipped fast and just as expected, perfect book.
  3. You did send the book back in raw to regrade right? They don't review PQ any longer, I was told last month. The only way now to have them possibly change anything is by a full regrade. I was asking because I was having about ten old label books reholdered. It can get expensive to pay for a whole new grading of some high end books. Night,
  4. Thanks Joe, I figured it was all of the Marvel books at once. I wish I had collected more titles back when I began. I want to at least read the stories sometime.
  5. Very nice. Isn't that just before they began displaying the pretty Thor picture in the corner?
  6. No depressing world here - and I can be very forgiving. But I also realize when someone keeps showing the same poor character flaws there is a very strong potential for that activity to get worse - not better. And after all he did, and folks still kept forgiving him - including Divad who tried to pull him off the probation list - he then goes and screws over Steve Borock and his business by tampering with his business cell phone message. So it is a world of reality. Sorry to hit you with a dose of it. Pay very close attention to the words I am about to type, Bosco, because they are incredibly important and bear a TREMENDOUS amount of weight to this situation: CAP FREAK IS A KID. He's, what, 19 now? Are you even aware that people do not finish developing (man, I sound like a wacky liberal) until their mid 20's? Cap Freak, like all kids, got away with what he got away with because people trusted him with more than he was capable of handling (obviously!) Stupid kids deserve the right to grow up. If he was 30, I would agree with you. He is not. He was a kid. Should he be given a VERY short leash? Oh, you betcha. Should he be made to provide restitution to everyone he wronged, to THEIR satisfaction? Oh, you betcha. Should he be trusted with ANYTHING until he has demonstrated consistently, over a VERY long period of time, that he's capable of that trust? Hell no! Does he deserve to be on the HOS when he's 40? Please. I hear you about him being a kid. A kid that was given more breaks than probably anyone has been given on here. Even people working with him after the Probation List entry to show they were still in his corner. And he still blew it twice-over. Is it very sad to see what occurred? Of course it is. Does it make me pity him? Sure - but don't the victims deserve the same concern? At 17-19 years old, if you still keep burning yourself and others, you need a very strong wake up call to help leave a lasting impression why to change your ways. He will probably make a great addition to another forum one day when he matures. With this one, he did too much damage to be allowed back on as a buyer or a seller. I would not make the HOS a lifetime sentence, but there should be a list there which would include all names that have ever been put on the HOS list. Sure, if someone at some point really could make up for how they got on the HOS list, allow them forgiveness. But I would maintain a notation or notes about their past, in that HOS list. Have a poll of members to allow them back in, after what ever restitution. But always have their name visible in the HOS list, place a huge neon sign next to forgiven HOS members which points to details of their rehabilitation. It should be like having a sex offender always registered with local authorities. Don't hang a sign around their heads, or in their signature, but be sure that their past history isn't wiped clean or invisible.
  7. Hey Green. Believe me I am sympathetic on this point with you. Just curious, what reasons were given to you by the seller to justify his actions. Did they pull the books from the FOR SALE thread or refuse to sell to you specifically? I refuse to sell to Green during basketball season, especially when NC is having an exceptionally good year. He just gets so obnoxious. Is Green one of those NC nuts, or a Duke nut?
  8. Does Shultz and the Sesame Street zombie have eyes for each other? On the PL subject, I agree that the process was shortened a bit much today. It's a good bet that holyghost is a bad nut that belongs on a list. Someone jumped the gun to post Chunkybutt too quickly. A couple of days is plenty for an alleged rules breaker to respond to a PM here. Okay, back to the good ole boys program.
  9. I'm waiting for the list to be long enough to fill one whole page.
  10. Ah, did you get the 9.2 this week? I was watching that one too.
  11. Ouch, $8900. It was at $5100 at the end, until the last five bids came in. That book is really really sweet. 9.4 ASM Annual 1 CLink auction $8900
  12. That is a sweet NM book Tom. My raw collection seems to all fall in at OWW pages for the most part(95%+), so my new #2 wasn't a surprise for PQ. I haven't gotten it back yet, but the ASM 2 is on its way from CGC.
  13. Very nice books, and there were quite a few sweet 9.4 copies in there. That was the most copies of ASM sold at one time since I've been watching. I saw the 9.4 #36 go for almost double GPA last month, so I made a deal for the eBay copy just before this auction. I figured the one on CLink would get closer to $2000 like the other one.
  14. Aman, you were correct. DC can't generate the Marvel flick wave. (thumbs u Which of course is why the biggest grossing comic book movie of all time is "Dark Knight". The Bat is an exception to the rule... I think the death of a lead actor before the movie came out had a ton do with so many people going to see it. The death of the very popular Heath Ledger brought world wide attention to the movie, that made a lot of difference.
  15. That is truly an incredible book. I do hope it is a keeper. You seem like a genuine collector that loves your books. Stay that way. Keep it real. Congrats again ! It's a keeper Bob. Most speculators would not even show this book on the Boards. This is for all the 22ers on the Boards!! My son is holding it and will be the next owner one day. Thanks to all! (thumbs u Very nice book, congrats.
  16. Okay, I'll take the #3, 4, 6, 7, 10, the nicer #13..., then, how much money is left? Oops, the #3 is taken, instead let me get the #20, 23, 34, and #50. Wow, unread copies. Try this link, Tom sent me to those. http://www.comiclink.com/CGC.asp?id=&FROM=6%2F07%2F2011&TO=6%2F07%2F2011&x=24&y=9
  17. Did I hear right that the DVD is out on shelves now, or was that a mistake and just a pre-order display?
  18. Yeah, that's how I've understood things. Bit of a pisser that. Run an official Comicana news thread in here and announce the new prices with links to the books. You can also state your stance on disclosure wherever you're selling books! Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm thinking, Gav. (thumbs u Announce it there, link the site and also give the reduced prices that won't yet be showing on the site. Oh, and full pro-active disclosure no matter where my books are being sold. Sounds like a great idea. Also, it's great to know that we'll be told anything known about the books we're buying. Oh, disclosure about the books.... I was thinking of the pictures displayed. Kelly... (thumbs u
