  1. Sure proud of mine...waited a lifetime for this puppy. Very nice, super book for sure. Congratulations.
  2. Russ has a long and troubled history here. Welcome to the boards, wish you had read some of the threads devoted to him before you sent $$ to Russ. Can the Better Business Bureau do anything about this? Only if Russ is a member.... of the (wooo! hold on a sec) BBB... What? Don't all criminals register with the BBB when they start their business?
  3. You mention the #13, I looked at it just before the end and figured it would go high. That copy looks like a 9.4/9.6 in the picture, it's very very straight, with bright white colors, and super sharp edges. It's got to have some minor defect that doesn't affect the appearance. I wish all my 9.2's looked that way.
  4. This auction had several super high grade collectors buying. A bunch of the ASM went for 50% over GPA, and many were double or more. Congrats to the sellers.
  5. Thanks again Jason for buying the two ASM books of mine. No worries with jbud73 to sell to, and he's a long time board member here. (thumbs u
  6. I agree with the others, work on more contact first. BTW Sharon "...some of us don't read texts...," I have texts blocked so I don't get any. Those cost money.
  7. Ditto, very nice. I saw that one before in the auctions.
  8. Yeah, I've been had many times in the 70's and 80's by mail order purchases, when you were at the mercy of the seller and his grading etc. This in 03 was my first CGC book, to fill my biggest hole, and now I find out it doesn't appear to match the grade before they open it. I'll see what CGC will tell me when they get back with me about it. I had only opened two slabs myself, so I have not seen many slabs after being opened. So imagining how a person could open it and re-glue it, I didn't think of it. Someone did obviously.
  9. You said it Scott, either upgrade or change collecting, CGC or sell off to do something else. I had them all when it was at about #400, and I got tired of the high costs and poor stories, plus the 2nd prints and variants had just begun. I don't really plan to go after that later stuff, but I want find a way to read as much of the stories again from the beginning. Who knows how that will turn out, I might want more, or decide what I did was enough. The crooks of the industry turn a lot of people off, and I'm just finding out about another mistake I made over eight years ago. Night.
  10. Very nice Jason, I always found those were hard to get in HG. Well done.
  11. You ever try Mac & Cheese and Hot Sauce? I bet that was a good idea at the time.
  12. Thanks Jason, and I do want to get a legal sized scanner soon to do better than the pictures.
  13. Thanks again Dale for the purchase of the ASM 5. I do appreciate it.
  14. You know reading and comprehending are disallowed here. People are allowed to make up whatever they feel like to suit their own agendas, regardless of actual facts. (thumbs u Cripes!! Responding to a 5 day old post? You aren't that crazy guy on my train who's always reading last year's newspapers are you? He sets next to some guy named Gary, looking at tomorrow's paper. Some bar owner.
  15. Very nice, that's how I want my collection again, out of large cases.
  16. Speaking of XM cover colors...then go out and get 4 copies of #4! What grades, 8.0's, or 9.4's? I had three #28's not long ago, and about 3-6 of certain keys like #100/121/122/129. But I was just looking for the best copy I could find, and never sold anything.
  17. Thanks to Mike for a great deal. As said before he is great to deal with and quick to pay, reply etc. I appreciate you.
  18. Dan was great in buying two books from me. Quick to pay and fast replies to messages, all good. Thanks again my friend.
  19. That man was not funny, but he made a decent father character on a TV show. I support people being added to the lists we have, but don't create more lists that people would have to find. As long as there is sufficient believable evidence(discussed here), I don't have a problem with anybody being nominated for the lists we have. Separate them by categories as you like, just put them in the same posts like we have now. Regards,
