  1. That's the very reason I've only sent in two small groups to grade. I keep spending the money it takes to grade a bunch. Thanks to several good sales recently, I plan to send about 100-200 of mine to grade soon. I'll send the expensive ones to Pedigree and let them pay CGC up front to sell. The rest will not be nearly as expensive as those to grade. Regards,
  2. Great book Tom, very nice. ha ha, most original villains seem to have been old men.
  3. Psst, you do know you own the first appearance of that vulture? The first vulture is an old man, the guy in ASM 48 just got his suit.
  4. The notes say just on the spine edge. I had noticed the front edge at the bottom wasn't quite black or glossy like the rest of the edge. I suspected it could be something, but hoped I was seeing things. Oh well, it looks great besides the CGC label.
  5. well, I sold a book on CL marketplace on 11/28 and shipped the book out right away. The book arrived on 12/2 and no check for me so far....it goes both way as far as the blame for slowness. It's a 30 day+ waiting period to receive payment from them. Is there a certain day of the month that they send all payments, so a certain date people should look for? They pay in the following month from any sale of course, but are their payments sent out at the same time of the month? I used to work for a company that subcontracted with car dealers. Our pay check was monthly and after the third week of the month. The slowest dealers would pay in the middle of each month, for work from the past month. So our employer had to wait pat that to get money to pay our checks.
  6. How is that the big one?? CGC census 12/10: 38 in 9.2, 28 higher. This is on ComicLink January Focused Auction: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #14 I saw that, my ASM 4 is for sale just in case things work out.
  7. Ditto, the PQ needs to be a numbered scale. More money for CGC and is a great idea. Yes, and I'd like it just to pin down the PQ to something everyone can understand. I've seen books with fragile paper that was nearly white, and tanned books with good strong flexible paper. I think of PQ when I'm handling a book, is it going to tear easily with the slightest pressure of a finger in the wrong way? I wish CGC would make a PQ scale that put priority on the paper strength and likelihood to take rough handling without tearing, plus the color factor for appearance. Right not it seems to be that they hunt the lightest square inch inside a book, and poof, that's the PQ color. I'm exaggerating I know, but I hope you see my point. I care about the long term life of the collectibles, the highest PQ rating should indicate that a book will last longer than the lower PQ. Regards,
  8. Ditto, the PQ needs to be a numbered scale.
  9. Tom, you should check the notes on that 9.0, it must have an unseen defect somewhere like a stain. That's the best VFNM I've seen, it could be a 9.2 in many eyes.
  10. Interesting, the labeling tape. I was planning to finish and put the CGC labels in the back of Mylars for the books.
  11. How about an 8.5 with OW/W pages, just shipped out from CGC, and for sale.
  12. Very good Adam, I like that option too. I think for certain books like covers that don't work well with writing, and some high dollar books, I'd prefer that way. (thumbs u
  13. Great presenting copy for the grade +1 A very pretty book! Ditto, very nice Adam. Did you have that done yourself with Stan? How often does someone ask for a signature on an inner page?
  14. Psst, does the AF15 come with? , some day he's going to read some of this.
  15. Very nice, a keeper. BTW, why were most of the old villains drawn as thin frail old men? to look back at them now.
  16. Is that auction the same one that will have NM's of Hulk 4, 5 etc? I saw those several recently in an upcoming sale.
  17. Did you get another or do you mean your old one? Forrest sent his AF 15 for a Stan Lee signing & slabbing. (thumbs u That's right, we both had ours done at about the same time.
  18. Only one problem . . .#11 and #12 are switched. Of course I'm nitpicking 'cuz I'm envious. Psst, how could you know that, I didn't think you'd recognize a #12?
  19. Nice books Bjorn. I love all of the old Spider-Man covers. It reminds me of having each of them in hand for the first time. In any condition they were like gold to treasure. I've got to go through my spares to reread a lot of those.
