Just as Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko's style was unique. His Marvel runs, especially Spider-Man, was masterful - everyone must check out ASM 33 - no word balloons were really needed in the first part of that story. However, he's got his demons that he must live with and unfortunately for us, he's a recluse and an almost impossible man to talk to.

Hey, it's not a third of the splash, it's more like only a fifth. The one thing that really astounded me about this book was the page quality - very supple off-white pages.

So I was looking through the probation list and know there's a great deal of anger and disappointment. So which one of the boardies/ex-boardies are you most disappointed in? For me it was 2 - Comics Supply and Gilberto Torres. I dealt with Comics Supply for a while and gradually their service degraded to a point where it was unbearable (as evidenced in many threads here, I'm not alone). Gilberto Torres, although I made only a few transactions with him, it's too bad that he just high tailed it out of town after establishing himself here as a bona fide member of the brood. Took the money and ran on multiple books / buyers. I'm out $170 on an Avengers 18 CGC. yikes! i bought from him back in 9/08 and he delivered. sorry to hear. I bought from Gilberto Torres just before SDCC with no problems, so see how a little time and probably circumstances change people and our perception of them.
