  1. Maybe the people bidding on it saw the comments in this thread and pumped the brakes a bit...
  2. 7.0 for me as well...it looks like there's a small tear on the robot's knee on the front cover and a small stain at the upper left corner of the back cover...am I seeing these things correctly?
  3. Presents like a 6.0, but I think the writing on the cover drops it down to 5.5...nice book!
  4. I briefly played this game and still have my copy of the original boxed set, if I remember correctly...will need to see if I still actually have it.
  5. I (spidey?) sense a Spider-Man parody comic in the making...
  6. Green Globulin...poisoning blood since 1964.
  7. I think he also drove the Big Wheel in Spidey #183?
  8. 4.5 for me as well...as others have said, the book presents very nicely for the grade!
  9. The first 5.5 copy sold tonight for $26,500...not sure if this price is low, in line with other recent sales, or high...
  10. I wonder if the PQ combined with the tanning and chipping at the right edge of the first book and the top edge of the second book has people concerned that those specific areas might be brittle? In the earlier days of the X-Men #1 runup these types of defects did not seem to matter as much, but maybe things are changing. There's still plenty of time left in both auctions for each book to jump substantially...
  11. I'd keep the 7.0...a printing defect like the spot on Sue's cheek would not bother me at all, while a fingerprint on a book would definitely bother me and keep me from buying it.
  12. I check the ComicLink exchange a few times per week, and can't remember the last time a book was added with an asking price under $1,000...is this a sign of these crazy times, or are people just not listing lower-dollar books there? In the old days (pre-2021 ) it seemed like there were always a few lower-priced books getting added here and there...
  13. That's a very nice copy, but the foxing at the top of the book definitely hurts...I'm going with 7.5, but don't know how CGC would treat that amount of foxing on an otherwise higher-grade book.
  14. I totally agree... If you're not planning to sell until closer to when the movie comes out you have some time to make a decision as to which copy you like better as your keeper.
  15. I also loved going to Big Guy's Comics! D ick was another dealer who was a tight grader... I got back into collecting in 2000, so I only had a small window of time to frequent that store before D ick sold it (I think he sold it in 2002, if I remember correctly).
  16. 5.5 for me as well, and I agree that a press would help...
