  1. I think people are pivoting from keys that have recently exploded in value to keys that haven't been as impacted by the crazy market? That's one of the reasons I decided to pick up my Avengers #1 now...it's been on my want list forever, and prices for it seemed to be very fair relative to the price increases other keys were experiencing.
  2. 9.0 for me as well, but I could see it possibly getting a 9.2...
  3. I've been a fan of Tom Orzechowski's lettering style ever since I read the Claremont/Byrne/Austin X-Men run back in the day... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Orzechowski
  4. Unless I'm mistaken, I find it interesting that one area of the hobby where this does not appear to hold true is with Pence copies...I personally don't collect them, but think they're more rare than Cents copies? I guess this goes back to supply and demand...the demand is just not there for Pence copies, hence the lower prices.
  5. Not surprising...hottest book on the planet right now! Congrats to both the buyer and seller!
  6. Murphy Anderson's artwork on those early Hawkman issues is also pretty sweet...that's what originally attracted me to them when I bought beater copies as a kid. I now have a nice run of issues #1-20, which was my collecting goal for this title (for some reason I have no incentive to get the last seven issues ).
  7. @Mike_1 , you started a thread about this book in CG...not sure if this copy fits the bill?
  8. 9.6, unless there's something going on at the upper right corner of the back cover...looks like there might be a small crunch or bindery chip there?
  9. @kav, this is awesome on so many levels... My first thought was that it's "sniff a fart" Wolverine...
  10. Sometimes it's best not to question things and just at the silliness of it all...
  11. This is an easy one for me because I only have one slabbed book in my collection (for now)...
  12. When I was a kid I loved this cover...DC cheesiness at its finest!
  13. @pickycollector, I just noticed that Marvel alternated Cap and Iron Man covers in the issues you're posting...pretty cool. The run I'm trying to complete ends at #69, and I think up until then they did split covers...
  14. Great videos...thanks for creating and sharing them!
  15. I can definitely see FF #28 popping based on how much X-Men #9 has blown up recently...makes me wonder if the “new money” coming into X-Men books is primarily focused on the main series and not the crossovers?
  16. If you're buying as a collector, you should buy the book at a grade and price you're comfortable with, knowing that you'll still enjoy owning it even if it becomes worthless in the future. If you're buying as an investor you need to think about what you want to get out of owning the book, and decide which grade and price best fits your strategy. Even though the market for many books is on an incredible tear right now we can't say with absolute certainty how things will be in the future... If you're bearish on Spidey #300 it may make more sense to pick up a nice-presenting lower grade copy as several boardies have already suggested. This way, if prices fall you'll have less invested into the book, and if prices rise you should be able to trade up to a nicer copy because your copy will be worth more. Regardless of what you decide, good luck with the hunt!
