  1. We needs us some linksis'es sir
  2. I love it. So much history in this book. It started a wave of JLA/DC fan base. No one will ever talk me out of this cover or book (including AF15) Would I trade my AF15 for that 9.4 #28? Avengers 1 can't hold a candle to this book IMO. No..No...long term you may regret it. a 9.4 of a key DC is a freak though. Tough to say which is the better bet. Freaky is the word alright. Unless no other BB28 9.4+ to show up, it's going to be one serious class of it's own. Obviously at this moment, a BB28 9.4 is more valuable than a AF15 8.0. Probably 2x more valuable. (thumbs u And gods knows how many times more rare.
  3. Ok, I'll come clean - Brock paid me to say it was a great cover
  4. Like they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  5. You should! Even without a surge at the end of the auction, it sold for $1000 over the last highest sale recorded on GPA.
  6. I think you're factoring In too many GA covers into the mix Rick. As far as Silver Age covers go, it's pretty iconic. Murphy Anderson really put the juice into his renderings of our heros.
  7. I think this cover is the most iconic cover of all of comics. It's definitely up there (thumbs u
  8. I guess $7500 was the price. Surprised me that there wasn't one last gasp. Still $1000 over highest previous sales and it raises the 12 month average price $375 to $7125. Not bad, unless you're in market to buy one I guess.
  9. There's usually someone (or two) lurking at the last minute and if they aren't high bid and are willing to pay even just a teeny but more, you could see it jump to $7750 or even higher if there's a few people. So my opinion, yes $8000 is achievable. We will see soon enough.
  10. Thank you George, indeed they are And to be clear they belong to "Sam I am". He asked me to help him by posting them.
  11. Here you go Chris (thumbs u
  12. And I am the one who bought it. Thanks again, Rick! Chris was a smooth deal! I think it is a heck of a book (especially compared to the 5.0) Well, do we have to beg to see a picture of? I got my 6.0 off of board member Flash105. The boards are a great place to buy, sell or trade books.
  13. . . . on a more relevant note, the SC #4 on eBay is now up to $7500 with more than 2 days to go.
  14. There's a lot of data out there to parse - especially if you count what's discussed on the chat boards. It's like a full-time job trying to keep up. That and issues regarding shills, doctored books in blue slabs, who sold what to whom, it's a pretty daunting task staying current.
  15. I can't tell you how it galls me to see some of my pedigree books listed on GPA at the sales prices buyers paid for them way before I purchased the books. I wish there was a way to update the sales data on unique, easily identifiable books like this on the census. And to hear that someone who moves as many books as you do Rick is not reporting sales, and one can surmise others have "dropped the ball" on reporting sales (or only selectively reporting them) well it does put into question whether it's really as accurate as it once was.
  16. What is MKT Value for a 5.0 right now? Is it on par with this ongoing auction? Are the WP a major factor? The white pages are on the 9.6 that's not for sale. The 5.0 has Cream to Off-White pages. Only 2 sales on GPA for the last few years, both for $6750. , that image of the 9.6 is burned in to my brain.... Thanks for the info, bob! I know what you mean That 5.0 is definitely on path to setting a new GPA high. I tell you, Sparklecity sure knows how to bring in the bids. Something to keep in mind when I'm ready to sell

  18. That's just terrific! I posted a scan of that book way back when this thread began as a tease to what we all could aspire to. I think I just tossed that scan as it made all (the scans of) my own books look like reader-copies. Honored to have the owner post it here so in case that next lottery ticket is the winner I know who to contact to get onto the list. Kudos to you sir
  19. Already at 6,000 no bargain likely here. Got to hand it to Sparkle, they do bring in the bidders
  20. I'll go a little high on this one as Sparkle seems to get spirited bidding and say $7000. The last sale of a 5.0 on GPA was a similar PQ book for $6750. A year earlier almost to the day a OW specimen sold for the same - $6750. I think it's time for a bump in price. Of course it could end up being a bargain . . .
  21. Sparklecity has had some decent Showcases for sale lately. Last week a #8, this week the grand-daddy of 'em all, a #4. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380627531111&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123 Took only $50 to become the high-bidder
  22. Yep. PBS runs shows over and over for a while so there should be a few opportunities to see and record it.
