  1. This might be where the new marriage of Classics and CGC can excel, removing minor restorations, ensuring it is done thoroughly enough to get a blue-label. I went through a resub after having resto removed a while back, and it still came back with a PLOD. With it being done in-house, per se, I'm sure they'd have to ensure it was successful if you're paying them to have it removed. Just a (stray) though.
  2. Actually, I think it was around for a while before it sold I thought maybe you bought it
  3. Hey, it's a done-deal, so we move on and look at what benefits this may bring. I think it's good because now I won't have to have Classic's ship completed books to me and then reship them back to CGC - one-stop shopping. I also would like to see restored books get some respect, and maybe having CGC incorporate this service will help to, ahem' somewhat restore the attraction restored books have.
  4. Appreciate the interest, the main reason I'm so active in this thread, that I started BTW, is because I absolutely love the SA Flash - hence my passion for this particular book. Apart form that, I don't really have the market expertise needed to accurately answer many of your questions. I can tell you I purchased a 3.0 copy a few years back for $1800 and sold it for the equivalent of around $3000 when you calculate the value of the partial trade + cash. So I made some money in the exchange. Hopefully one of our experienced dealers chimes in here to give you the information you want.
  5. I am probably a bit biased to answer some of these questions, and besides there are guys on here far more qualified to do so.
  6. Greg Reece has a beautiful copy... http://www.gregreececomics.com/Comics/2697 Not any more SOLD!
  7. Big surprise 5 (correction11) pages long already - and on a Friday night no less
  8. What I get for looking at stuff on a tiny phone screen.
  9. I was the first $100 bid on this, the highest bidder for about 60 seconds, then someone outbid me. Would have made a nice Christmas present for you George.
  10. I think it`s relatively easy, actually. I think B&B 29 & 30, Showcase 8, 13, 14, 17 & 22 are harder. Just for sh*ts and giggles: link us up some of the easy to find B&B 28s in higher grade. I know there's an 8 out there.....and some 6-7s. But they are all few and far between. Try to compare that to the voluminous list of higher grade Avengers 1s. I'll have to respectfully disagree that it's easy to find a bunch of high grade B&B 28s. Absolutely agree with this. And Bob's assertion that BB #28 is a great cover. I have always loved this cover, that (mostly) MA art is fabulous. Great renditions of Green Lantern, Flash, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter and Aquaman I say buy one if you can find one. (thumbs u
  11. There's a nice looking 6.0 for sale on ebay.
  12. I think you may have misread the PQ designation on the slab
  13. Very quiet here on the boards lately . . .
  14. Cool Everyone getting ready for Sandy?* Keep those comics high and dry *on the east coast
  15. This thread deserves a kick to the top. Where's everyone?
  16. Absolutely agree. It would be much more appealing than a bunch of trimmed and bandaged books.
  17. I think they've revived the phrase on the TV show "The Big Bang Theory". They have a red "Shazam" t-shirt with the big yellow lightning bolt on it.
  18. Good luck George, hope you get to ring the bell
