  1. So I haven't had this problem, mostly because I've been home and in fact out in the front yard when FedEx arrives. But the last FedEx guy, when I said, "Do I need to sign for that?" told me he could "fill out the paperwork as long as I see you're here."
  2. All good humor contains at least a kernel of truth. But I'm pretty sure Thor can get his hands behind his head while still holding the hammer and without spinning around.
  3. The tug-of-war between security and freedom is on-going. I'm not too interested in living in a world where people are so afraid of theft they can't live their lives in a normal way. Also not interested in a "blame the victim" approach.
  4. I think you're supposed to have a stated "return policy" GLWTS!
  5. I'd like to say being "soft on crime" is a new thing. I agree it's reached epic proportions when some are calling for the complete elimination of law enforcement and of incarceration which is just so obviously a "fail" it's hard to imagine anyone advocating it. They just solved a decades-old cold case murder up the road here using DNA, and since that murder, the guy's been arrested on rape, kidnapping, DUI, etc, etc, etc, but he's been running around free. I hope they catch whomever stole these comics - I'd support a tar and feathering episode to follow.
  6. I hope those aren't cap guns...but they should be.
  7. The seeming obsession to explain the cover art/story arc with extensive word balloons was a great DC weakness. Really clunky.
  8. A. I don't have the kind of nice manicure many on here have 2. I'm not sure they're necessary, but I assume any oil transfer = bad. Not that I'm handling the books that often out of the bags. My books have enough dinks and dunks as it is.
  9. I have been - and am - getting "PHP error messages from time to time. They generally resolve with a refresh.
  10. Six months ago - before I started lurking here - I had no idea what a "Mark Jewelers Insert" was. But in the review of my collection, came up with these two. Thanos and Mark Jewelers? Makes ya think.
  11. You know, I never thought of that. In that case, if anyone has a copy of Thor 238 with the MJI, I'd be interested.
  12. For some reason my comment on these was deleted when I posted it. What I wrote was: "I believe the top copy is the first comic book I ever bought. This would have been at Joe's Market, an independent grocer a block and a half from where I grew up. I read this over and over, and really liked the "teams" concept, which probably explains why I was a big fan of "Marvel Team-Up" later on. I don't remember where I got the second copy - also well-loved, but by someone other than myself.
  13. I bought an FF 32 from one of the well-recommended Silver Age dealers on Wednesday, and was told today they couldn't find it, and thought it might have been stolen at a trade show and cancelled my order
  14. I'm starting to believe this general kind of thing is happening across this hobby. Yesterday, I ordered a book from the inventory of a site that's been thought well of here. Today, I received an email telling me they couldn't ship the book because they couldn't find it and thought it might have been stolen at a trade show. My money was refunded. Seems like a job for Inventory Control System Man!
  15. Had a great transaction. Books were very well packaged and withstood all the USPS could throw at them, or even when they did throw them. Good communication and quick response. Recommend.
  16. Here are some things I picked up during the blackout. From Mustang33Guy, an Estate Sale and an LCS.
