  1. I'm not a big fan of debt, BUT I also don't want to see this hobby completely dominated by people who can pay cash right now for super expensive books.  Any insufficiently_thoughtful_person can write a check.  If someone's financial situation does not allow them to pay cash, refusing to take on manageable time-payment debt means they will never be able to buy expensive books unless their financial circumstances improve, perhaps dramatically.  Sometimes you have to wait a long time for that to happen.  I'd rather see some books in the hands of less well-heeled but more dedicated collectors.  Debt is a tool, but you do have to know how to manage it.

  2. This is the splash page from AV 55.  I have a half-dozen Avengers books with this stamp on the splash page.  Well after publication, so I figure either an LCS "received" stamp, or one of those who owned it before I did.  Not likely an LCS as I don't have any other titles with this stamp (or anything like it) and I didn't buy just a few books from any of the LCS's I visited in the mid-70s and certainly not just a single title.

Coverless, with a cool old stamp at the bottom.

"compliments"..... does that mean they were giving it away?

It seems like it would have been sitting in a waiting area at the shoe repair - ? -  along with Penthouse and Sports Illustrated.  A little extra advertising.

Letting people sell on your  site without requiring the books be on hand is dumb.

This thread proves that you're right.  Look who is getting the "blame" for the unacceptable delay in shipping out books bought and paid for.  This is more an "instant gratification" world than it's ever been before and people have become used to same-day or next-day shipping on almost everything.

On the other hand, I can't imagine the infrastructure required to house and track what could be thousands (or 10s of thousands!) of consigned books, which would include the liability of storing those books in proper conditions for what I believe can be long periods of time until they sell.  The "commission" on that might be equally unacceptable to the delays.

    It's a tough problem.

  5. I'm open to this casting, however I would like to see them quit casting actors in more than one role in the wider MCU.  Also, in my opinion, AT-J is much too young for this role.  Many of the "cool" early Spidey villains set up an "older, experienced" villain vs. a high school kid.  Vulture, Doc Ock, Kraven were all like this and it worked as a dynamic.  I thought Mysterio in "Far From Home" captured that, although he (spoiler alert) posed as a mentor for a while.  So we'll see - I'm predisposed to liking the MCU movies, so they have some work to do to disappoint me.

  6. I'm at 1786.  Majority are Silver/Bronze/Copper ASM, FF, Avengers and JIM/Thor of which only 3 are slabbed.  Some 60s/70s partial runs of IM, ST, Hulk, Cap, Subby, 70s horror and the "new" stuff Marvel was bringing out - HTD, Eternals, Nova.  Some other cool stuff.
