  1. C'mon !!!! 9.8 !!!!!! That's in sane !!
  2. And they would have needed to be, or today would be, in a separate adult-only section out of sight from kids ...... just some of those covers alone (again, I have several and I love them) are very graphic
  3. Are you guys considering this in the future, possibly ? Us vintage concert poster collectors would love to have access to it ....
  4. Yes, I think we just gloss over the actual content and ridicule him and his "arguments", and some were definitely ridiculous - some of those covers, Man !! - I love them, and I have collected several of them, but even with today's standards they are "questionable". I am no defender of Wertham, but c'mon , things were going too far for sure. If these were adult-only books, no problem go for it, but I wouldn't have wanted my kids looking or reading that stuff as young kids in the 1950's or the 2020's .........
  5. I have tried to look all over your site, but I cannot find posters listed in your overall "census" .... only comics and some magazines I can find Thanks FISHBONE
  6. The thing I don't get is why there are 5 full pages in this thread Storage locker bad = don't do it = thank you, next thread .......
  7. Have both and love both, but there is just something special about the sub 20 Supes issues/covers, even more so the really early ones like #5 I know #5 is more valuable pound-for-pound than Action #31, but regardless I still pick Supes #5.
  8. the Promise books previously sold on the high end, or just during the comic boom. you mean sold on the completely insane end !!!!!!!! No way those prices reflected anything in reality then or now ..........
  9. looking like more of an outlier recently than anything ..... sort of like the $100,000 5.0 a while back. I'm sure you (and I) were very excited a couple years ago (I have a 5.0 as well) But this graph will get very interesting as we move forward a few more years into the future
  10. but isn't this just a simple calculation that Mike didn't need to answer - 4% of 4 million ........ 4% of anything over $1000 and there is your number ? The added insurance answer is very interesting though .....
  11. Action #1 ? -- all day long, even PLOD no hesitation (if I could afford one now)
  12. bump.................................................... Not sure these quickly escalating high prices will serve the hobby in the long run
  13. Yes, most here know and appreciate that ....... but Batmanis changed everything ..............let's get back to celebrating an iconic publication, and maybe talk price here and there for sure ........................
  14. Seriously, congratulations!! I know exactly how this feels for you as I have the exact same run ( ....and ongoing as well) but I was lucky enough to grab AF#15 a while back, so it is a very precious run for me.
  15. definitely have fun with this -- it's sounds like you already are, which is great. But I have to say it looks like you don't have a lot of $$$ there unfortunately ........
  16. Batmanis must be itchin' to jump back in here .....
  17. I agree - what is this thread actually about ? I'm confused - if I wanted to drop $408K on a book, I can see it (auction houses actually show and fully describe the book). Plus, there are NO 0.5 comics that are completely coverless as far as I know (and others here know) ...... But the bottom line is you HAVE to see and know everything about a book if your are even spending hundreds on a book, let alone thousands ...
