Yeah, I know.........searched and searched and finally couldn't wait, so I grabbed a "slightly" restored from Metro (posted not too long ago on this thread). Although a beauty, and expensive enough, would love to score an unrestored.......and you found it on an e-bay store no less........F'n congratulations, Man!!!!!! Fish

Forget about having the wife or girlfriend there when you buy your ASM#1 --- how about completing the whole ASM run totally behind the wife's back...............................................yeah, think about it......... FISH (sneaky, very sneaky)

I have a question for anyone willing to make an educated guess re: Detective Comics #29 (especially since I have one now). I'm wondering, with all your collective experience, how many unrestored Tec #29's would you guess are still in the world as we know it ? ...and what logic do GA comic experts like yourselves use to come up with such an answer ?? Sorry, rick -- I must have been reading your comment at 2 in the AM and half-asleep!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, it seems it is THAT E-bay to Metro book. And seven bills sealed it. How the heck does a guy pay 8 on E-bay and 2 weeks later sells and gets 7 less Metro's cut ?? Anyway, thanks for your expert opinions -- makes me feel like I did alright........... FISH

I know one thing -- it would cetainly strain the relationship with one wife of mine if I even thought of keeping a coolection that big in her house....... PWed

I'm up to about 1500 in just under 2 years, with just over 500 (obviously) being the complete ASM run and about 50 being 1938 to 1940 GA Supes/Batman/Timely's -- now if only my bank account could increase a bit more..........

Damn!!!!!!! Just heard back from Matt Nelson -- my Action #10 's interior is deemed too brittle to restore ---- although cover is apparently very restorable. Anyone own a coverless #10 they don't need anymore ???? FISH

re: Tec 29 from Fishbone: Well, you're sort of correct----------it was from Metro but it wasn't listed only 2 or so weeks ago -- more like 3+ months ago, so I'm not sure about the timing you have-- did another TEC 29 possibly come and go at Metro that I'm not aware of ?? Also, I haven't been on e-Bay for awhile so I'm not sure about that part either....................but I did jump on it pretty quickly (it was only about one or two days at the most listed)...it was described by Stephen as "VG cover but overall GD due to "some" brittleness of interior pages".....it actually looks a lot better than his description over the phone to me , which I was really happy about..I'd be curious if anyone could hazard a guess as to what I paid for it, or even what they would have OFFERED Stephen based on that description and based on my scan (just for fun....I really wanted it, so I paid what I paid, but I guess I need some affirmation.......) Fish PS Oh yeah-----it actually is unrestored as well..........

You're right - I don't think I'll ever outpost you Detective27kid, but as a newcomer I thought I'd share a few of my Timely's as my first post on this thread.............................and what was up with early Timely's and all that bondage (though I LOVE those bondage covers for sure!)

Thanks......I thought I'd need to show some credibility to join this elite group!! The #10 is banged up , but I'm sure you and every other serious collector knows how freakin' hard it is to find a half-decent sub-#20 Action that won't set you back a few mortgage payments !!!!! Still searching for a #13 (like everyone else here I guess) - my "dream" is to have every Superman-cover Action from 1938 thru 1940 (minus #1 of course ---- well, it is a dream isn't it??). I just need #23 , #29 , and of course #13. Any sellers ?? Also, would love to own Superman numbers 1 thru 10 -- just need #1 to complete -------- easy, right ?? Fishbone PS I'm considering restoring my #10 -- any opinions/comments/concerns from anyone???

Hi all. I'm am totally new to this whole "thread" thing, but I am an avid GA collector, especially Superman and Batman, and I can't pull myself away from the computer since I discovered these Gold Comic threads ....... I've just registered and I'd like to post some scans of my comics, but the FAQ section mentions that images coming from websites are the only images that can be posted -- is there not a way to simply scan my book and post it here ?? Fishbone (sorry to be so green and stupid....)
