  1. When I went full blown into GA collecting, Nationals with US covers and USQ was one of the first I wanted to put together. One reason is because National #7 with its Lou Fine cover pushed me to GA. There are so many covers in that run that could be considered classic. I finished both the Nationals and USQ some time ago. Not sure if you remember but you sold me one of my National #8s, another great cover. Now if I had some love for the Barker, maybe I would finish all of the Nationals.
  2. Wowzers, Sha. Those are great books. You know I love Uncle Sam covered Nationals.
  3. Hi Rick I'm watching and just wanted to get a post in before William @Comcav
  4. Not enough keys to merit a CGC pedigree designation, I guess. I agree on Jim's tight grading and he is very responsive to e-mails. I think Sqeggs is correct and if I remember the breadth of the collection did not cross a lot of genres as mentioned. Again, I have found they have great PQ and suppleness. Here are some that I have -I know the Nedors were.subbed by me and I believe the Jesse James. The Prize Western I am assuming is a NH although the month is missing but it sure appears to be similar markings. A
  5. Bring The Boys Back Home - Pink Floyd
  6. Not a DC per se and to be honest, not sure how rare these are. I have a copy of the book with a nice dustjacket as seen on this edition below. It is the Armed Services Edition with only text and obviosuly as can seen in the slab, the dimensions are much smaller. It is soft cover unlike the book. I wasn't sure if CGC would grade/slab it but as of now it is the only on the census. I think I am the only one odd enough to sub it though.
  7. It doesn't necessarily have to be a red dress for me
  8. I wonder if too much is put into determining when to reslab. Considering I have subbed books that I bought off the shelf in the mid to late 70s that sat in poly bags for most of their existence in a long comic box and they have come back as 9.8s with white pages. Disclaimer - they were good candidates for subbing and many were unread and not all were 9.8 but none below 9.4 again with good PQ. Seems like a slab would offer more protection than the poly bog and stuffed into a comic box along with 300 other books.
  9. Ramblin' Gamblin' Man - Bob Seger
  10. I personally love New Hampshires. I have found they have ecceptional page quality. At least in all of the ones I have. Jim Payette brought them to market, correct?
  11. I feel the exact same way, William. Pages are period and I don't think of marriage as a label of doom, with comics anyway, says the divorcee? as one marriage of twenty years was one and done for me. ? Awesome book Rick!
  12. Are you kidding? That is a mess of excitement. Such a great run and great achievement, Jason. ??
  13. My bet is on the red-dressed brunette to finish off the red head and then take down the last man standing. The later SMs are underappreciated imo just like the cover artist, Ken Battlefield. Nice book, RM
  14. George, is that you? If so, it is good to see you back even under these circumstances. Yes, Uthe is infamous and so hard to understand how he still operates. Regrettably when I see a German seller, I think it may be him and shy away. Glad CC is being so responsive.
  15. You could pre-screen for a certain grade or higher if you have more books to sub. Not sure what the minimum is now - seems like it was 50? If you don't have that many, possibly partner up or send them for a press to someone like @joeypost and he will combine them with others to meet the minimum I believe. Just another option. But do the math, see what a 9.8, 9.6, 9.4, etc are selling for using GPA or just checking sites like EBay or Heritage through their free archives then calculate the cost of grading, shipping to and from to see where you may land. Good luck.
