  1. You, younster, you. I am not old enough to have heard her on the radio broadcasts but I listen to OTR a lot. Funny lady and very popular.
  2. 4! 3! 2! Do we have a 1? No 1 but I can bring up the rear - a position I am all too familiar with (unless there is an NG around)
  3. I'd like to see a nude cover homage to this one
  4. I am to the point where nothing surprises me anymore. Lots of deep pocket buyers from entertainment stars to Saudi Arabian princes. It seems the GA market continues to be strong.
  5. Hi Leroy Good looking 4.5. Lots of book in those 100 pagers.
  6. The high circulation in the 50s makes sense. Both Mickey Mouse Club and Wonderful World of Disney tv shows debuted in 1955 and 1954. And every other comic save DC and Classics was being burned by Werthamites
  7. I assume it had something with their conversion to a new platform since you were here last. Welcome back.
  8. Try e-mailing Roy Thomas at roydann@ntinet.com (His email is public on TwoMorrows site). I sent him a question about Charles Sultan and he answered. He may know specifics on your questions.
  9. @Scrooge Wow, that is a lot of information and interesting to see. Thanks, Scrooge.
  10. I think there was a thread some time ago about but I could not find it. I am curious who the top publishers of the GA were based on sales and circulation. I checked Comichron but it only goes back to the 60s. Interested only in a publisher's comic book sales as some like Fiction House published pulls or Ace and their paperback books. Not looking for actual numbers just a ranking. I also realize it could vary by year but maybe cumulatively from 1939 through 1945. Not even sure if my request makes sense ? I would guess DC would be #1 and Fawcett #2? Factual data, educated guesses, shots in the dark for a top ten ranking.
  11. She looks like Judy Canova. Only oldsters probably know who that is. Have never seen that one Corey.
  12. Great pics and thanks for posting. Love looking at display wall books and wishing I were there but happy I am not because I would spend more than I have. Kind of to
  13. Thanks, Todd. I think it was you who posted a copy? You've got quite a collection. The Weird Tales pulps that you shared in the past alone are just incredible.
  14. I don't collect pulps but I love them. Someone posted a copy of this one sometime ago and I have been looking a copy and picked this up not too long ago - not being satanic but it is creepy, cool cover.
  15. I always thought he was supposed to be Hitler;) I do think they "implied" Nazis and possibly even Hitler here. Remember they also "foresaw" the Pearl Harbor attack on #18 (8 total counting my stinky PLOD)
  16. Just wanted to say - great avatar. Sorry for a slight thread sidetrack.
  17. I guess this may a true reflection of the current FMV given the CL example - I am no PCH expert nor real collector of them. Lone Star listings are priced by the consignor and not by Lone Star so the consignor can value them for whatever they want and then for Ebay Lone Star bumps the price by a certain percentage. On their site the book lists for $700. Not sure how to direct link to that book but here is a screen shot of the book on Lone Star's site. I think the consignor is a boardie.
  18. So you're just keeping garbage books, huh?
  19. Space Western 40 & 42 take per PM
  20. Good lord, no. One time through is/was more than enough for me. It is like a cyclical journey of the inane.
  21. I haven't posted in this thread for a very long time but it is always entertaining to read. At the beginning, I cared and offer advice, then moved to ambivalence, then apathy, then mild disgust and eventually appreciating the entertainment value. One could say the thread is grossly mis-titled but given it is one of the longest running active threads, maybe at least that proves the road has been successful
