Wow, talk about the proverbial needle but I have three copies and checked them. Sorry but best of luck. I do know someone who had written his name in his books. They were HG SA Marvels and he sold them. Over the years, he started collecting again and came across a couple of them - not that he was specifically looking for his old copies but it is cool to acquire them again.

Thanks to all sharing the pics. This and OAFCON were the only shows I really attended regularly (live in OKC). When my daughter was younger, we went every year. I tried to make her a comic pop culture nerd but I failed. She is 25 now and leads a productive, non-geeky life as a speech pathologist It was show - not too big but big enough to get that major con feel. It has been years since I attended - health problems, gas prices, caring for a parent limits my ability to attend so this was a welcome thread for me.

A replica of Superman #1 that you have never seen before
telerites replied to Cpt Kirk's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
I did find the link to the auction catalog if interested. The Action 1 prop is listed on page 13. https://profilesinhistory.com/flipbooks/A97Superman/mobile/index.html#p=2 -
A replica of Superman #1 that you have never seen before
telerites replied to Cpt Kirk's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
I started a thread back in 2017 about a Profiles in History Auction where a cast signed copy was auctioned. Somewhere, I probably have the catalog or could find it online. Here is the copy and the link to the thread. Thought it was pretty cool. -
It does have some provenance being checking copy and it certainly wouldn't bother me. I have the same feeling about Library of Congress copies. I like stamps or designations (pedigree and such), even store stamps (as long as they are not too big like Bonnett's but I have several Bonnett's), even date stamps are cool to me. I know the thread isn't my party but here is a Library of Congress book I have. Being an owner tends to give some bias with label designation being obvious like it is stamped on the cover where anyone could see, I am really don't care if it is noted on the label.

1938 Mexican Action Comics #1 page to be Auctioned by Heritage
telerites replied to Beyonder123's topic in Comics General
@THE_BEYONDER Hi Mike I had a Golden Age UK book that was done the same (backwards). I did send it back as mechanical error and it was corrected. Maybe as @steve566 states, that is where the appeal with Supes so a backwards request makes sense. -
I still reference your thread, Jay.

telerites replied to gumption's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
@gumption Have you looked through this book? I don't have a copy but maybe could help - pretty cheap for used or maybe someone here has a copy. Also @Electricmastro created a pretty good list that you may want to look through -

Need help identifying four obscure Golden Age Heroines

For some reason, I see the one that had been marked as Nyoka had a bow that she used but I am probably way off. The blue lapels look very familiar but just can't place her. -

@gumption It may be that the one you have marked as Sheena is Cave Girl. Sheena's loin had wo straps at least what I have seen. Cave Girl's was a one-strapper. But it really hard to distinguish. -

@gumption I think this one might be Nyoka, Jungle Girl http://www.toonopedia.com/nyoka.htm Edit - I just saw you has someone marked as Nyoka. The one you have marked as Nyoka looks familiar but I can't place her. Butt again, hard to tell. -
Comiclink, Comic Connect, Heritage, etcetera... Wins...
telerites replied to Buzzetta's topic in Comics General
That does seem strange. You should be able to see your bids and bid history on your dashboard. After you login, you should see My Account, put you cursor on it and you get a drop down, go o dashboard. It will open a page and on the left hand side you see something like this. -
What was Aquaman's first comic book cover appearance?
telerites replied to sfcityduck's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
@sfcityduck Colossal Comic Annual #3 - hint you posted (Aug, 1957) The Hundred Comic Monthly #1 (sporting the green costume again which I like) - October 1956 The All Favourites Comic Annual #2 July 1957 Colossal Comic Annual #1 August 1957 Hint you posted Colossal Comic #9 later one from March 1959 So there may be others earlier and I cannot take credit for knowing these other than the few I have seen on the Australian Comics FB page. I went through the Aussie Reprints site to look for his cover appearances. I don't think there were UK appearances until later. Bats and Supes and some others had content reprinted but I may be wrong. -

I have seen the other on the Australian Comics FB page but I cannot remember the title. This one though precedes the one I posted as it is believed to be printed in 1956. -

Does Expertise/Experience no longer matter to be a dealer?
telerites replied to Krydel4's topic in Comics General
I don't think offering a reasonable counter is inappropriate but doing so based on disagreeing with a third party's grade (whether or not the dealer agrees or disagrees with the grade) seems the wrong place to be. And this may have said earlier -- I wonder if the grade was a 9.2 and the potential buyer thinks it might achieve a higher grade, if they would offer more
