  1. Margo Lane From pulps to radio to serials to comics to television and a movie.
  2. 2012 was a good year Oh and that PM you sent a while back with some advice, we did go that route - this is the first week. It has been hard but I do think it is best. Thanks again.
  3. Yeah, he was poisonous, Dave. I went back and found the HOS thread. I think the reason I thought he had monster in his name was his Dr. Frankenstein iteration. He was also Waldo-Johnson which I had forgotten. I liked how Robert @crassus noted FDQ on his HOS entry. If anyone is interested -
  4. A stretch but Armand means Army Man/Soldier (may be used that while he was in basic is related to the meaning - like I said a stretch) French Baby Names Meaning: In French Baby Names the meaning of the name Armand is: meaning soldier, or warrior. German Baby Names Meaning: In German Baby Names the meaning of the name Armand is: Army man; soldier. Famous Bearer: romantic actor Armand Assante. Polish Baby Names Meaning: In Polish Baby Names the meaning of the name Armand is: Soldier. American Baby Names Meaning: In American Baby Names the meaning of the name Armand is: Army man; soldier.
  5. @Buzzetta@DR.X I was thinking of CapFreak but I do now remember the pjkid picture. I think the other one I was thinking of was Muscleshark - does that sound right? I think that goes back to 07 or 08 - it was soon after I joined I believe.
  6. I can't find the original thread - maybe blowie can -- @BlowUpTheMoon but the "Patience is a Virue (sic) with the Bill Sienkiewicz commission And more of a meltdown and I didn't see it mentioned - there was someone who I think had monster in their name and came back with different accounts - it was a big meltdown thread (goes back quite some time). The thread with pajama kid who Borock took under his wing and then went silver spoon nutso.
  7. A double classic label. Such a great book and I am not a DC guy. Very nice, Joe!
  8. Not in the market to sell. I just was sort of thinking since I don't keep up with much sales data, how much the market has changed from when I did a majority of my buying.
  9. Looking at GPA, the most recent sale recorded of a 9.2 was $4K nut that in May of 2020 but there was a 9.4 that sold in December of 2021 for $6,600. I haven't played in SA books in a while so I don't have a lot knowledge of trends and a one book sale from a site that GPA tracks isn't a representative sample but it would put a 9.2 in that range Jimbo said. My 45 is an old label 8.0 with white pages. I wish I had kept records of when and how much I paid for books. I am sure when I bought it and much of my SA collection, they were readily had at relatively low dollar. I have been playing in GA books for a while but like to look through the SA and BA and CA (I stopped buying new comics in the mid 80s) threads just to see what is hot.
  10. I never saw Avatar and don't remember if I saw Aquaman (no head trauma to cause memory loss) so it was either really bad that I blocked it out of my memory or never saw it.
  11. Thanks, Jim. I saw the Patsy Walkers show up in my automated searches and when I saw the user ID, I thought maybe Ebay reset your account. Sorry for your dilemma and hope you can get it worked out.
  12. @awe4one Did you get this resolved? Seller awe4one showed up with some books on my search results. Although the account was created in 2018 and shows only one feedback from more than a year ago so a 0% rating at this point. The About page for the account says this - "My husband and I love to collect and sell comics. We have been into comic book collecting since our childhood. While traveling all over the world, my husband started collecting professionally. At our age, we are ready to down size our collecttion."
  13. I need to start a thread of naming the top five Poor Person's Pedigrees. I might have a few of those in my collection. Or I could just wait a little while since the pedigree book will soon be released and look at the rankings in it.
  14. I saw that book and wondered the same thing. Here is another book in an old label (although when I enter the cert #, it says cannot be found so I am guessing it was resubbed or CPRed along with the label so it was removed or my eyesight may just not be good) so I can't compare the grading dates. The AF 15 was graded 10-21-2002. But these books have the same grade. I had always assumed even at the beginning of CGC the AF 15 would have gotten a GLOD. In any event, these two books grade-wise are the same and just like the change up of how tape is viewed is not only confusing but can distort sold price data (my opinion anyway). Buy the label not the book.... BTW, the All Select #2 sold on HA on March 6, 2003 for $1,322.50 (and we were probably amazed it got that much back then )
  15. Yeah I tracked that auction and bid on a couple. I thought the prices were outrageous for raw books sold as is. I would bet there are missing pages and restoration in those groups.
  16. Here's a true story about a wheelbarrow and nearly hitting my head. Back when I was in college (early 80s), my cousin and I took the wheels and handles off of wheelbarrow so just the bucket was left. We tied to the back of a car and the weather ha dumped a sheet of ice on the roads. We went to some back roads with gullies on each side and thought, what the heck, we will invent barrow skiing. I was first in the bucket and my cousin got the car at a decent clip on the icy roads. I had virtually no control. The bucket hits a rock, I am popped up about six feet and land in the gully with my head narrowly missing a good size rock. It took my cousin a bit to stop the car because of the ice. He seriously thought I was dead. He also he said while I was still in the bucket laughing thinking how much I must be enjoying.
  17. This should take you straight to the live auction https://live.ha.com/live.zx?saleNo=7266&sessionNo=1&ic=LiveAuctionTopBanner-StartingSoon-122815
  18. Most likely all the same as above but you can do a search on GCD. This is just the first page of results with search parameters of DC as the publisher sorted by year ascending order
  19. I will Michael and I did put in my OP that this is best addressed by a tax expert. The thread kind of got side-tracked from my question. I haven't sold books in quite some time and never consigned though my goal this year is to greatly thin out my collection. Probably a question I can ask the consignee when I get to that point. In any event, the new requirement makes me think about how to disperse my books. In hindsight, should not have thrown a thread together in such haste. And Happy New Year. Hope all is well.
  20. Here is the press release from Paypal to give some context. https://newsroom.paypal-corp.com/2021-11-04-New-US-Tax-Reporting-Requirements-Your-Questions-Answered?fbclid=IwAR0V9tJOlZKyaqRkJMYaJvgAQHBCRCVDVpxnrBN75HuQx0JjdjVanHvb9w8
