Some of those will press out.

I decided to donate them (dinged ones) to the upcoming Holiday Raffle :)

Sure, still the "lucky" winner with some junk

The dreaded downward spiral...buying comics because you think they are rare. Funny animal comics are not far away. (No offense to the ducks fans out there!) :foryou:

Your worst moment has to be tied...Losing that box to the P O Machines of death...or spending 500 bucks on 100 variants?

I like variants. What's the harm? If you are slabbing them, it's just another poster. (shrug)

From forum member testinadical's me page. (also known as his 'hate filled uni-bomber manifesto').

"Along the same lines are price variant collectors. These guys will pay hundreds of dollars more for a Marvel comic where the price says 30 (35) cents instead of 25 (30) cents. I cannot think of a more stupid reason to buy a comic than this."

I like variants, too, but only buy them if they fulfill the following:

1. I like the cover.

2. I have some spare cash to blow on the book.

As far as my best/worst, two recent entries, since starting over in 2002 are:

Best: Buying a box of Daredevils from a boardie in late 2002 for $200 and finding a near perfect 131 sitting in a bag and board while the VFish silver age stuff was in mylars. That 131 just came back from CGC as a 9.4.

Worst: Getting ready to scan some Adams Batman stuff for sale when I spilled my Coke on the table. The top of a 9.0ish Brave and Bold 102 got splashed THROUGH the top of the mylar and seeped into the bag. Now it's a 9.0ish Brave and Bold with a slight Coca-Cola stain.

I still cant figure out why Anti-CGC people post on the CGC boards

Same reason that Americans buy Japanese cars,

Same reason why Jewish people buy German cars,

Because they can (shrug)

Yes, but if you do not like Japanese cars then you dont buy them or ride in them. If you hate CGC so much then why waste your time on here. I can understand people who dont have the money or dont really care for it, but thats different then being Anti-CGC.

not sure if you being sarcastic MK, but (well first i’m not against CGC, i just don’t buy slabbed books), but this is far and away the best board for vintage comics so there is nowhere else to go.
