For a change here is the art for a rare early Shadow daily by Vernon Greene. Only ran for 2 years and they are very rare.

If anyone has the reprints would you let me know the date?

How about this the 11th Shadow. Known as the "Double Z Cover". Pretty rare.

The artwork reminds me of lots of comics from the earliest days of the Golden Age...it's not the slickest work, but it has loads of character.

That actually sounds like a lot of money for that time.

 

My father had a job with the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. at the start of WWII and that's about how much he was making.
