I've come to really like some of these detective-themed pulps from the 30s.

Here's one I picked up from 1930... IMO, a neat cover image that would look right at home on an early issue of Detective Comics.

I recall your posting the other Rapid-Fire but not this one. Wow. Cool cover. They sure loved those locked room mysteries back then!

 

I've been trying to slog my way through Le Mystere de la Chambre Jaune (1907), one of the first such mysteries, by Gaston Leroux ... but the language, i.e. style, is slowing me down, probably an externality of the fact it was first a serialized story.
