I'd not seen the 217 cover either...although DD is one of my top 3 favorites in the SA category, my cut-off point is issue 200. That doesn't look much like B.W. Smith art... who did the inking, Klaus Jansson?

 

Smith himself. It looks a lot more like Smith art if you see it in hand. It's much more delicate than it appears in either scan and the figures and faces are pure BWS. From memory, the inking is done in a style similar to the work he did on Weapon X (a book he inked himself.)

Agreed. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but I think the peices he colors himself he always inks himself and that cover is DEFINITELY colored by BWS - best colorist in comics! cloud9.gif

 

Yeah, it's definitely colored by him as well. NO ONE else makes those same choices.
