Can anyone truly tell the difference between a 9.8 and a 9.9? I've never seen a CGC 9.9 up close in person so I have no clue.

Frankly anything above 9.4 looks the same to me, which is probably why I'm always pleasantly surprised by the quantity of 9.8s I get from my submissions.

 

Well then, the quest for a 9.9 submission begins!

Most people....even most comic collectors....cannot tell the difference between the uber high grades simply because they have not trained their eyes to look. Grading, like most anything, takes practice and time to develop.

 

And there's nothing wrong with not being able to...most folks would consider that well within the realm of "normal."
