I wanted to help you with your quest by making a correction... it sounds like you're actually looking for a Badger cover by Mike Zeck and not Mike Ploog. Zeck drew the covers to Badger 33-36.

Being the Zeck collector... I may be able to help you out with that goal for 2009!

Here are some of my OA collecting goals for 2009.

1. Get an Ernie Chan comission. I have a special idea for an Ernie Chan comission and hope to get it this year.

2. Grail Quest for a Ploog Badger cover. Mike Barons Badger from First comics is one of my favorite comics of all time. Mike Ploog did the covers for issues 33 34 35 36. I would like to find, and procure one of them.

3. If I can't get a Ploog Badger I am going to try and get a Bill Reinhold one...

4. I need to scan and organize my whole collection and get it on CAF

5. Conan is my favorite OA subject. I do not own any Big John Buscema pieces and would like to get an iconic one this year.

6. One of these days I am going to buy a Cerebus page... Here is hoping it is within the next 400 days... :juggle:

Definite brainfart on my part! doh! I certainly knew they were Zeck, but some how i typed Ploog in. I guess that's what I get for going on CGC posting marathons as my work is slow during the Holiday season! Eyestrain and Braindrain lol

I recently acquired a piece that satisfies much of my OA desires so I havent really thought much about what to aspire for in '09.

A lot of art I would love to have but most are out of my price range.

I will buy one, maybe 2 really nice pieces this next year. Another Grell for certain and who knows what else. I guess my goal is just to acquire something I really love in '09.

Between the end of the new Gilded Age and changing life priorities, my OA collecting goal for 2009 is simple: Don't whip out the checkbook if it can be helped. I'll still pay up for my very top Holy Grail piece(s), and will consider pieces from the next tier down on my want list at reasonable prices, but otherwise, my goal is to essentially take a break from buying. :(

I'd still like to add one true, big-ticket, Holy Grail centerpiece to my collection, but otherwise I'm pretty satisfied with what I already have. Given that the cash is probably not going to be flowing as freely as in the past few years, I'd rather save my coin for other things (apartment upgrade, vacation home, supercar) that I'll be looking at in the next couple of years instead of just adding more art for adding's sake. (shrug)

Well, 2008 is almost at an end. And although I did pick-up a handful of nice pieces for my collection this year, I still wasn't able to find the one I set my sights on for 2008. So, it'll become my goal for 2009 very shortly...

I'm looking for Mike Zeck's and Phil Zimelman's cover to Punisher Limited Series #5! Any leads? Come on - someone must have seen it! Well, technically I saw it back in January of 1986, but what I meant to say is someone must have seen it in the last 23 years or may know who purchased it.

If that's you (and maybe you're looking at it hanging up on your wall right now), please shoot me a PM. Just put me out of my misery! Don't let this turn into my goal for 2020!
