So just to be clear my HoS nomination hinges on me using the wrong picture in my thread for HFH1?

Not arguing, I was in the wrong, but is this truly worthy of me not being able to partake in this board anymore. I've made plenty of legit sales to happy customers. Sure I've rubbed many the wrong way, but I've done my best to right my wrongs, and will continue to strive to be better.

If the poll is a landslide and everyone wants me gone, I'll leave no problem. But otherwise is it that bad for me to sell books at good prices to those who are interested, and those who despise me can just ignore me?

I've never once cheated anyone out of money, I'm the first to refund if the customer doesn't like the product. I've even offered on many occasions to ship books without payment, and after the buyer judges that they like the slab they can pay at their own leisure.

Anyways that's my spiel. Don't know what else I can say. I'm sorry for uploading the wrong image of a book with a different page quality, I have many saved images only desktop and I simply made a horrible mistake. Lets remember no one bought the book.

Ok can I change the subject from Symbiotic to Jimmy Linguini?

I'm not sure what to do in this situation.

So someone bought a CGC slab from me in November 7 of 2013 on ebay. I was contacted for the first time June 26 on the boards to be alerted that the item did not arrive.

The buyer lives in Germany. I had $100 insurance on the package but the window to make a claim through Canada Post is 4 months and tracking is not provided.

Now the slab was $49.99 and I'm assuming shipping was around $35.

What do I do in this situation?

had the buyer contacted me sooner I could have been recouped through insurance however now that the buyer waited 8 months I lose the book and any money I send to them as a refund? (even though I covered myself getting insurance?!)

Never, ever ship overseas for one. Like you said, no tracking, that's a major problem. He could be staring at the book right now and you would have no way of knowing. That sucks man.

Oh yeah, and as far as advice goes, in my opinion, the BUYER took the risk of having a book shipped overseas and then waited 8 months to claim it didn't arrive. No refund for him. Just my opinion.
Surely the ebay statute of limitations on when the buyer can make a claim has run out by now.

+1 All this. 8 months is a very long time to wait to contact you. Don't give him anything. 2c

Classless comment from an classless individual.

By the way, this comment was NOT directed at fingh.

Thanks for the clarification. I did think it was directed towards Sean.

Today:

I don't dispute anything Harvey brought up. I'm ashamed of my actions and deserve whatever punishment is deemed fit.

There's no need for a poll after I ship the last of these orders I'll be leaving the board for good

I do deeply appologize. You are a great community that I don't deserve to partake in.

Why did the buyer wait so long? Shipping overseas is fine.

Canada Post just doesn't provide tracking for certain places.

now I'm only asking here because the person who bought the book is sending me messages on the boards asking.

I don't ship to a lot of places because its too expensive so I can't imagine sending the book to Germany without him convincing me or sending me some messages about it where I would have said tracking through canada post isn't happening - but the only reason I have posted this here and am asking for advice is because I don't want to be put on the PL for something as stupid as this.

I offered him a $40 refund.

Tracking is an option to Germany. ;)

That sounds like a more than reasonable offer, 8 months later is way too long to be asking for any refund as there is a process on ebay to use if items have not arrived in a timely fashion.
