Hedge Collector
So, when will a copy finally pop up in a Clink, Comicconnect or Heritage auction? There are already 3 in the current CC auction, and they close in a few days. http://www.comicconnect.com/bookSearch.p...arch=Run+Search And that 5.0 has a history. Supposedly, it was sold raw, subbed and came back purple 5.0, returned to Metro, then appears now in the auction as a blue 5.0. The thread is in general by the peeved buyer. Bomber-Bob
I showed a raw scan a couple months back as my entry into the 'club'. It is now officially a CGC 5.0 OW. Very nice eye appeal but some staining kept it down.

I did not realize that one was in the auction. My comment on it was that the grade looked suspect to me as well.

kimik
So far the auction results are a bit underwhelming. I wonder how much the LT/OW is hurting the price on the 4.5?

kimik
Pimpin' ain't easy I am hoping that the 4.5 does not go any higher, actually, so I can buy it and sell it locally. I know two people looking for a copy that will pay whatever it takes to get one.
Dark Knight
Well the CGC 5.0 copy sold for $3100 and the 4.5 with light tan pages sold for $1500.

kimik
Well, that was a good price for the 5.0 copy, but the LT/OW pages hurt the 4.5 from the looks of things.
showcase22gr1959
Well, that was a good price for the 5.0 copy, but the LT/OW pages hurt the 4.5 from the looks of things. Yes, the LT/OW did soften the price for the 4.5. I still think the lucky person who won it got a good deal. The last 3.0 with LT/OW sold for $1125. Based onf the copies being offered in the market in a given time, most copies will normally will be a 4.0 and under. Page quality is significant in pricing SC22. If you noticed, the 5.0 off-white sold for a premium, but imagine if it was a ow/w...it would have probably sold for $3500+. Also, 5.0-5.5 copies with off white pages+ deserves a premium and copies with 6.0+ deserves a premium+, and the page quality on the 6.0+ with off white pages+ deserves a premium++. Nonetheless copies graded 7.5 and over will deserve a premium+++. I hope these terms is understandable for everyone. (thumbs u

kimik
It will be interesting to see what happens with the next few copies that come up for sale. Are we going to see the start of a lull before a slower and steadier climb to a new plateau, OR are we seeing the same thing that happened with Avengers #1 earlier this year and now only 6.0 or better copies are holding their ground?
