Why do Anti-Pressers HATE pressing?

1,017 posts in this topic

Well, this thread has certainly devolved...

But I now have a new and worthwhile pursuit - nice unpressed books with Plump Spines (thumbs u

I will have to check my raw SA's that I'm positive haven't been touched...

Agreed, time to stop the off-topic mess and ignore the troll.

Pardons for my part in egging it on.

You can look for that little 'dimple' of authenticity that it wasn't squeezed flat.

the one existing and perh :foryou: aps most important aspect of it is the "plumpness" of the spine. Even though comics were pressed originally, the spine is a curvature, an oval or half-circle in its most pristeen state. A squished spine, whether the result of years of age/wear and tear or pressing, should be down-graded.

+1

I get it...it's Friday night and you're all in the joke-off (or jerk-off for the dateless) mode but I don't want this aspect or attitude to fade into the ether...I am dead serious...I bougt a passel of Spidey 700 awhile back and it is just glorious to see those plump spines...when you encounter a SA book in the wild or slabbed that is heart-pumping...so much more worth than a squished book. This is actually a true aesthetic level of originality that should not be swept aside. 'Nuff said!

Just a noob dropping by.

Pressing is restoration no matter how you choose to see it.

Artifically improving the appearance of a vintage book with heat and water has gained popularity due to keys being financially lucrative. As a collector I don't knowingly ever want to own a book that's been pressed - it seems immoral. Some of these so-called die hard collectors seem to be huge advocates of pressing and flipping for profit, they might've been collectors once upon a time....

#hatersgonnahate

Have I, EVER, stated I didn't like/hated you?

You are being extremely childish and disruptive. Hence button pushed.

I am not one to tell someone to do something, but, #growthefup

Really didn't mean that towards you.

I was making a joke in general.

Then knock it off. I once prided myself on never hitting the button and here I am doing it.

I don't understand why. Others have been posting nonsense and childish comments for page upon page in here. I don't think my posts are any less (or more) disruptive than they are. If you go back, my posts just were #hashtag comments trying to show how silly the argument was - then someone decided to call me immature and insinuate I was seeking approval (yet many others were doing the same in different ways) and then Slym made sniping troll comments (per usual) here and a few other threads where I made similar jokes - so I responded.

In fact for some of the posters that is all they do - jump into threads and make silly comment after comment. Sometimes for pages on end...

Why am I being singled out?
