Masamune69
the savannah copy looks great. But it will be at premium price. I hope one of the guys here win it so that we can get an under copy on the market. I keep asking everybody and I can't find any copy Between showcase 4 and BB85, I start to think that they run away from me
showcase22gr1959
It's a pedigree sold at Heritage. Where is that Savannah copy of Showcase #4, I can't seem to find it anywhere on Heritage's site They should spend some of that loot they make on a new web interface. It's pretty lame. I would imagine soon on Heritage since they're handling the Savannah collection. Here's the CGC link. (thumbs u http://www.cgccomics.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?IDArticle=1883& Great! Thanks for that. I may not have the coin for it, but I DO want to keep an eye on it. Maybe the buyer will have an under-copy to sell that better fits my budget You'll never know if you don't put in that bid. byosti
Well, this sale almost slipped past me - one day on comiclink and poof, it's sold. I've seen this book before (with it's distinct rubber-stamped cover). I guess the time was right to sell it. http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fsearch%5Fadv%2Easp%3Fall%3Dy%26TITLE%3D%26TITLEOPT%3DALL%26ISSUE%3D%26Condition%3D%26ConditionTo%3D%26CensusRank%3D%26SearchPageQuality%3D%26Pedigree%3D%26PRICEF%3D%26PRICET%3D%26DESCRIPTION%3D%26DESCRIPTIONOPT%3DALL%26SearchRemarks%3D%26SearchCGC%3D%26EXCLUDE%3D%26CATEGORIES%3D%2D1%26WCATEGORIES%3D%2D1%26SORT%3DNEW%26%5Fwhere%5Fforsale%3Dy%26%5Fwhere%5Fauctions%3Dy%26x%3D27%26y%3D12%26where%5Fforsale%3Dy%26pg%3D3&id=875538 i picked this one up
Boba
Congrads (thumbs u That was probably one of the nicer 4.5's I've seen and by the general lack of sales, perhaps among the nicer Showcase #4's that's exchanged hands in recent years. I didn't know where I had seen it, but I remember those stamps
Boba
Here's a raw one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Showcase-4-very-FIRST-Flash-DC-Comics-1956-/110641865597?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c2c4e37d Thoughts?
showcase22gr1959
Why not grade a key book like that. Why gamble...risky I say.
Boba
The seller is listing a whole bunch of raw books. Nice stuff by the looks of it.
showcase22gr1959
And I wonder if this copy is from an OO collection.

Boba
I sold off my 8, 13 & 14, I wasn't satisfied with the grades. Now I find myself wanting to replace them
Masamune69
I would say it's too risky. The guy never sold a big book. You don't start selling big books by a raw SC4.
Boba
I think that Showcase #4 looks pretty decent, but I question whether it would grade much higher than the one I have. Although the PQ looks pretty decent. It looks like an OO set to me. What does anyone think it'd grade?
Peter Loves Gwen
It looks well read, the spine has a lot of wear on it. CGC doesn't always grade the spine very well, sometimes they hardly deduct for a bad spine. If it doesn't have any restoration like a color touch, I'd suggest CGC would be near 4.0 blue. The spine is worse than the cover appearance, a better spine would bring that up closer to a 6.0 Fine. The seller's description supports this, he calls it a VG. Tell me about it...CGC is harsh on the spine wear. My SC22 5.0 got hit because of spine wear. Assuming nothing else is wrong with it, that SC4 is a solid copy. Masamune69
I don't think it will come back as better than 4.5. And this is if it s not restored.
