Even though it's not one of my favorite Savitt covers, I still kick myself for not bidding on the Hi-Yo Silver #36 cover auctioned on Hakes 7 or 8 years ago. He sure liked his horses. Outstanding paintings of horses.

Scrooge
Durango Kid # 3 - The Joe Certa illustrated Durango Kid stories are juvenile as one might expect but they are played tongue-in-cheek so that they were enjoyable. Durango Kid and his sidekick were well aware of the premises within which they operated. The attraction is of course Frazetta on Dan Brand (White Indian), but oddly enough, here it's the scenario that lets you down (I know, we came for the art) as the one-sided support of the settlers sounds way off when I read it today. In the 50's, it probably wouldn't have mattered. So, a surprise overall that what I thought wouldn't have aged well, did and vice-versa. Comics in France in the '80s at least had card-stocky covers so they could sustain handling but these have paper covers. Unreal. Sarg

Popular Post jimjum12
Recent from Ed... not common in grade. This has a Toth cover and interior and two Kubert stories. Mind you, this is about the time and place where Kubert really started hitting his stride.
