damonwad
Thanks my friend - "the adamstrange eye" - and just like that, a new phrase is born. High praise indeed. A great compliment to him, and certainly to me. I'm trying to wrap my head around restoring it. This one, and a lower to mid grade GI Combat 80 I've got coming in are two I'd really really love to see as close to news stand fresh as I could afford to make them. Another great cover on the GIC 80. Hopefully you'll post the after pics if you go the resto route.
damonwad
At least Baker westerns are still affordable. For some reason, my cheapo scanner sometimes produces an ugly moire pattern (I think that's what it's called) on the scan and I need to bring out the camera. Very irritating. I still need a copy. Probably better hurry before those get out of hand as well...

damonwad
How about a Baker Canadian Western? Thanks Sqeggs and Robot Man. I haven't seen that NW Mounties before. Nice book. Those "Paul" books are taking over the boards .

I really like those "name" collections and Paul obviously enjoyed all kinds of different comics. Great stuff.
Dr. Love
Little itty bitty pulp. These painted pulps can be the bomb but the condition of these things...and I thought romance was hard to get in grade. I like a challenge, and I love the art, makes comics look like finger painting, but I can see pulps breaking my heart. Young man's game, or Bill Gates money, otherwise...gotta pass. Maybe. Great stuff. That guy's in some trouble, though. Apparently the forest is on fire, he's got to carry his buddy on his back, and he's got to shoot his way out of there. Dr. Love
All in a day's work for a real american. So I had ordered this pulp off Ebay - sold as a VF/NM from a big dealer - no back cover scan but the front looked like this, so how bad could the back be? and given the grading on pulps is way lower, the best a pulp usually gets is a fine+, maybe a vf, so what the heck right? even if the grade is shall we say optimistic, the back is gonna be clean of major issues, right? and then the book ends up with an back cover overhang that is curled up about an 1/8" from top to bottom because it was stuffed into a regular plastic comic bag. I coulda spit nickels I was so pizzed. What a waste. Criminal.

I recently got a signed Asimov pulp and the bag it came in had literally fallen apart and the deterioration made the paper fragile.....
