I don't buy many Dell funny animals these days. But my favorites are the ones from around this time period 1947. Can't wait to read it. Go look at my Mad's in the Mad thread...you know, the thread nobody ever looks at...
damonwad
Here's the Baker Hawk cover run. From what I've seen over the last 7 or 8 years, the #9 is pretty common, the #8 is tougher but still usually available and the #10, 11 and 12 are all pretty tough to come by (at least they were for me). comicjack

adamstrange
Thanks for sharing those damonwad. Baker seldom depicted action scenes on his covers but he clearly had a real talent for it that was underutilized. Though his "couples in conversation" and "girl staring off into the distance" covers aren't too shabby either.

Nice! I agree that issues 10-12 are much tougher than 8 and 9.

Makes you wonder what he could have done at Marvel if he had survived to work on their Silver Age hero books.
Sqeggs
This is kind of a fun book. Some good stories and good art, including some by Severin, Maneely, and Reinman. Must have been a lot of fun for a kid who splurged on the 25 cent price and picked up a copy during the Western-mad 1950s. He got his money's worth.
