I finally decided to let my DD 1 breath from it's Pedrin Fortress. Heck, it's probably been in there 25 years.

 

Bought this some time around 1980, never tried to upgrade...bought and sold a few low grade copies, but never got rid of my first copy. :cloud9:

 

Guess I'll join the club

I have to say I'm blown away by how many people have posted DD #1s.

Just in the past 6 or so months there has been so many new club members.

There are a lot more DD fans out there than I thought - pretty cool to see so many own or want to own a #1!!

Well DD is the coolest character... has been the most consistent Marvel book (by a country freaken mile!) the last 15 years (probably longer!)... has a utterly amazing rogues gallery (Kingpin, Bullseye and Elektra are 3 of the coolest characters out there)... has an actual disability that is a crutch (which makes for very cool story telling) and is relatable (so many ups and downs in his personal life). Plus the dude's not hokey or cheesy like a lot of Marvels characters they promote lately.

 

 

I've come here to spread the DD word!

truth! DD has long been my favorite character. All the modern story arcs past 1999 are gold
