I've been a big fan of the run and I think that this "death" may have some greater purpose other than merely generating media buzz.

 

I mean, this is a business that is purely profit driven, so you can't imagine that all stories exist without sales in mind, especially from the big publishers.

Yep, this is what they do these days to improve sales. I guess the thought of writing better stories or getting better art never enters their minds.
