COLLECTORS ITEM :eyeroll:

What a joke.

Agreed!

First rule of comic book collecting!

When something says

COLLECTORS ITEM on it`s cover

it usually is not.

;)

Wasn't Action Comics #1 pushed as a "Collector's Item?"

Maybe it was Supes #1.

We're still collecting it 20 years later, so I think they were 100% right.

:gossip:

Yep just like comic collectors are still talking about this. ;)

@ DiceX -- And I wonder how many people catch what those dice read in your sig

You're the only one.

What? 5 years now and someone finally gets the hidden message?

Saw it long ago. Thought it was genius. Still do. (thumbs u

It's purley subjective. What exactly is a "collector's item"? And how "limited" is the edition. It doesn't state anywhere on X-Force #1 that it will be worth money someday. It simply suggests that if you are a collector that this item might be something to collect and enjoy...and make Marvel rich.

Yes they are. I know people who have 100's of copies of that book.

What about the black & white shhh promo copies that were distributed to retailers ahead of time? Worth anything extra?

Never seen or heard of this one, is this a legit version? I searched online and could find no info.

All limited editions are essentially limited to the number of copies that can be sold :insane:

I figured as much, but had to ask!

Cool, so I have all of 'em then.

How much did you pay for the gold with UPC variant? Everywhere I look it goes for insane prices.

Yeah they are usually listed for Crazy Eddie prices.

I ended up getting it for a bit under three bills after a small refund due to the case getting a small crack during shipping. I forget what the grade was exactly, but a cgc low 9.something ...

Edit, I dug it out and it is a 9.6 blue label...

I still have my copy of the Platinum edition, and it's still in the original envelope from Marvel with the letter. We received it by mail directly from MArvel to our shop. I could post pics tonight if anyone is interested.
