Peter Parker + Gwen Stacy pictures on set of new Spidey Movie

I'm sorry, although this movie looks like it will suck, I don't think back to how amazing the first Spider-Man movies were. They were rubbles of steaming mess. Green Goblin was lame. The roof top conversation in the first film was horrific. The burglar was not menacing. I never turn off movies but I almost had to turn off the 2nd one within the first hour. The actress who played Aunt May was terrible. Doc Ock was cool in the 2nd hour but the train messiah scene was bad. I don't think I could suffer through that first hour again just to get to the good scenes. I never even watched the 3rd one.

:screwy: sorry but I completely disagree, for comic movies the first two were great!

How many times can they tell the same story??

They've already written the screenplays for the remakes of Thor and Captain America.

I'm glad because I was planning on hating the Thor movie.

Next up, multiple versions of the movie being released simultaneously. Spider-man:: Red, Spider-man: Blue, Spider-man: Black...

I thought the 1st two movies were good too. Before the 1st Spider-Man movie there were no decent Marvel Super-Hero movies at all, they were ALL low-budget, no name actors, that sucked (remember that Spidey movie from the 80's (or was it the 90's??).

Anyway, great strides were made with Spiderman #1 & #2. It's always difficult to make a decent Super-hero movie. If these weren't decent Super-hero movies (Spidey #1 & #2), which Super-hero movies qualify...FF, Hulk???? Please!!!!!!!!!

(COUGH) Blade (COUGH) X-men (COUGH)

The success of Blade was really what started off the whole Marvel Movie Fad.

Sorry I thought the X-Men movie was more like Spiderman #3 (not very good), and Blade I never considered because to me he is a third tier character...just my opinion. And neither of them were even close to Spiderman at the box office.

My point is that neither was a "low-budget POS" and seriously, the success of Blade led to X-Men, which beget Spider-man. This is no joke, and I read a book where Brian Singer spelled it out in very basic steps.

At the time, having a semi-major action star like Wesley Snipes attempt a funny book character was seen as quite a risk.

Yes, I'll give you that much. I forgot about "Blade" actually, and yes, probably the first "Marvel" super-hero movie with a decent budget, but it's more in the "vampire movie" vein to me.....Not really super-hero stuff in the traditional sense,. The X-Men on the other hand, was true Super-hero stuff, but I thought Spiderman to be a far better movie than X-Men. Again just my opinion. (shrug)

For some it was the other way around I guess, meaning a few probably preferred the X-Men movie. But I didn't, I guess it's because I am too much of a fanboy, and wanting them to do the X-Men without the "newer" members in the first movie at least. But I understand the financial part of this equation....Wolverine, Rouge, Sabertooth...etc...making this movie in this way they were sure to make more money at the box-office. It is a business after all...

I'm just too traditional I guess......for the record..there are a lot of things in the Spiderman movies I didn't like either....(especially the Goblin's costume) but I thought they did a decent job with a difficult character (Spidey) to portray.

Yes, I guess, without the Blade/X-Men..Spidey probably wouldn't have happened!!!!

That is 100% correct! :applause:

If you want to thank/blame someone for the avalanche of comic book movies in the last 10 years, Stephen Norrington and Wesley Snipes are the ones you should seek.

Perhaps he looks more like Steve Ditko's Peter Parker, skinny and homely.

. . . with a big head.

Wonder why Gwen is shown wearing kneepads hm

Those are thigh-high gray stockings, and knee high tan boots. (thumbs u

(thumbs u

although I like DiceX's explanation lol

No reason they both can't be true. :headbang:

Forget about the new re-boot, let's get right to the Spider-man porn parody.

I have a strong feeling that as I age, comic book movies will never make me happy in that 1970's kinda way. These current flicks are for the mall rats that have access to their parent's money and as much fun of TWILIGHT and AVATAR we make - there are hoards of tweens spending the dollars while we whine and spend nothing.

Movie makers plan on a target market when developing their projects.

If your Hollywood who are you going to target middle-aged men or young people? Seems like we know the answer, really one the reasons why Batman Returns did so great at the box office was because of Heath Ledger`s appeal to the young crowd. Great movie but Heath`s appeal to the young crowd had a lot to do with the box offfice success. the next Batman movie will not do that kind of box office no matter how good it is.it will probally slightly beat the first Nolan Batman picture. 2c

Based on any random comic movie thread here, I think Hollywood should look to these boards for all stories, casting and marketing. Then they'd really make a killing.
