Comic Book Guest DAVID FINCH - Just Added!

Writer/Artist — Batman: The Dark Knight

Saturday and Sunday

finch.jpg

David Finch began his comic book career at the age of 22 at Top Cow Productions, where he created Ascension and Aphrodite IX, both of which were top sellers in the business, with Aphrodite IX debuting as the number one comic book in the industry. In 2001 David made the move to Marvel Comics. His 15-issue run on Ultimate X-Men was an overnight success, and the book went on to remain a top 3 title for the course of his run. With a move to Avengers, David's presence once again had an instant impact, doubling sales with the first issue. This book went on to be relaunched as The New Avengers and remained the number-one title during the course of David's run. He next took on the art chores of the low-selling Moon Knight, which soon became a top 5 book. David then turned his attention to working with Jeph Loeb on Marvel's smash hit Ultimatum. In 2010 David made the transition from Marvel to DC Comics and the Warner Brothers banner. His artwork was featured on the covers of Brightest Day and Action Comics, and his collaboration with Grant Morrison on Batman: The Return was what Batman fans had been waiting to see. 2010 also saw the launch of Batman: Dark Knight, which he is writing as well as pencilling.

I've posted the DC and Marvel "Must See Events" (i.e. panels) on the website. Times, days and room numbers will be announced tomorrow when the full schedules are posted.

As you can see, we'll have heavy editorial representation from both companies at the event and hopefully a few cool exclusive announcements from the big two!

Wait 'til you see what else is being planned. There's some great stuff in the works. It will be off the hook!

As far as I know Zenescope is doing exclusives (as they did last year), and there is very cool exclusive comic from Image that I know people are going to want. Plus, DC and Marvel are doing exclusive cover comics for sale at the Expo. Details should be announced shortly.

Completely off-topic question here.

Does anyone know any decent restaurants within walking distance of the Convention Center? I went on Urban Spoon and they list a bunch of them but within the list are places like McDonald's and I thought someone local would have a few good suggestions.

There's a McDonald's near the con?!?!?

Just thinking on Bremner Blvd.:

- Real Sports Bar & Grill, is a nice place, just east of the con, right next to the Air Canada Centre. Saturday the 27th may be packed, because of UFC Rio.

- Hoops, is another sports bar choice, closer to the con, but still east of it.

- St. Louis Bar is just west of the con, across the street from the southwest point of the Rogers Centre.

Lots of great places, north of the con. Just do a search for Downtown.

Just walking along Front St., on my way to the Jays game tonight, here are some more restaurants.

- Lone Star Texas Grill

- East Side Mario's

- Joe Badali

- Canyon Creek

- The Loose Moose

- Jack Astor

- Casey's

All relatively decent places to eat.
