Moderns that are heating up on ebay!

Sorry to disrupt the discussion – just a last question about the modern Cap books:

Valiant,

See awakeintheashes previous two posts.

lol

Thanks both – I don’t like trade papaerbacks, even if I have just to read the books I always try to track down the originals: which are the Brubaker Caps which have gained more popularity as "collectibles" and should be on the lookout for, not to spend excessively? :)

6's, 14, 25's, for sure.

I don't think the others will be too bad, except maybe for 1.

14 will be the most difficult to find, in my opinion.

Thank you!

Some people come here just to be negative, and honestly I'm not used to it yet.

And some people come here just to post false and/or misleading information just to make some money.

Can someone attach a negative Nancy picture for me? Thanks

If they did you would fail to give them credit and then pass it off everywhere as your own.

If you don't like my blog, why would you read it?

I'd also love for you to post some examples. But that wouldn't be very negative..

TMNT 44 is hot because IGN, EW and the likes had coverage of the book. The book got major press. I havent read any press release article which indicated that he is gonna die, nor was the book dubbed - the death of Donatello, nor was it bagged in black. They all suggested that he MAY die, but no one was duped!

The reason why this book sold and still is selling so well is because it got alot of press.

What followed was a barrage of bloggers informing everyone that Donatello got clipped..

And then obviously everyone on eBay followed suit.

I dont think anyone is misinformed.. and I dont see prices of the book dropping

This will go down in price just like any other hot book does when it stops being cool. But at this point I suspect that most of those who thought donatello is dead already know that donatello is not dead

It got a lot of press because people still went with the misinformation to keep the flip going. Honestly as a seller I would have corrected any heading and information going out as soon as I knew the book is not the death of Don immediately. An honest seller is better than a liar IMO.

Good God..

This is the CGC forum, right?

( Opportunistic scumbags looking to turn a quick profit off the uninformed? )

Jebus...

The last few I sold were to people who have been in the game for a while ( high number feedbacks )....I think people have it a little wrong, mixing up symptoms for the causes....

A comic is hot because it's limited and everyone is talking about it...We talk about a death a first appearance etc... But it's the Talking that makes it hot, people want to see for themselves, have it for themselves. It does not matter if it's an event that can be written in overstreet.... it matters if there's buzz...So as long as Donatello's mortality is the subject of scrutiny and conversation...

Yup.. That was my point exactly, only youre missing the wide press coverage that caused that buzz.. That type of PR for a book is very rare.. EW coverage alone prolly got thousands of interested parties

So let me get this straight a almost death issue is now a key? lol

That would put a lot of comics into key territory! It is a fairly common practice to end an issue with a character "appearing" dead only to be found alive the next issue. Time to start pulling out those back issues and hyping them up!

People that posted negative stuff are those ones that weren't able to buy the book at cover price. Sourgrapes! I know some people like that! Sadly they are in my circle. :gossip:

Yes, that is exactly it. :eyeroll:

More people probably remember you as the guy that never contributes and is always negative trying to "correct people" then whatever you posted.

Still hanging on to a shill that happened about a year ago.

Do you honestly think you dragging that up phases me DarkSoul?

Come on now.

The only thing about you that phases me is your constant negativity.

My interaction with you on this board has been limited to aiding in the outing of you as a shill and pointing out the idea that tempering expectations for Enormous would be a wise idea. I think both of those are in the best interest of the board. The recidivism rate for comic scammers seems to be pretty high, just check the probation discussion forum.

Is this negative:

This is from Cable 3. He appears in a few more panels/pages after this:

weasel.jpg

What about this:

The first appearance is in 304.

The fight between the Hulkbuster and the Hulk is in 305.

Buy them both.

I think when you read my posts you are mistaking passion for anger. And yes you can meme that.

This :censored: needs its own thread...in CG....on a Friday.

+1

Or... you know... just any day, but not here.

You are free to mention a modern book heating up on eBay and get the ship back on course.

Agreed.

I don't stop by to see people whine at eachother.... this place is for discussing comic books. Take your personal issues elsewhere (private would be best).

With no knowledge of the posts above yours it's more than a safe assumption you were arguing someone else's posts. As always.

Okay, I'm done.

You bore me.

Jimmy is awesome.

TMNT 44 deserves the heat. Dead or not.

Enormous NYCC slabs sell for upwards of $600.

Should I start tempering my expectations now, or later?

The fact that the first appearance can still be purchased for $30 should tell you something.

But nah, its all sunshine and rainbows. The idea that the television show could become Terra Nova 2.0 (if it even gets made) and that you find yourself at the bottom of the cliff with the Sixth Gun "collectors" is unthinkable.
