Good Comic Book Store(s) in Los Angeles

14 posts in this topic

Define "good comic book store " .

I always thought my comic book shop was the best in Houston.

Other peoples mileage may vary.

Some poeple think a shop with no back issues sucks, while the

next person thru the doors loves the fact that there are only

new issue racks. Some people like the smell of old news print

and how the yellowed long boxes don't look like they've moved

in 40 years, while the next person likes loud zrock on the music

system, a blackout motif, and someone in the back burning

sandlewood incense.

Some love goldenage only, some only want Marvel silverage,

or DC atomic, or indy only.....

Which one was it? I was in Houston up until about 89. Geez, I really am old-over 20 years!

Golden Apple Comics on Melrose Ave. is my favorite store in the area. It's been around for a long time and is the local hang out/go to comic shop for tons of celebrities so you never know who you will run into on any given day.

I've seen Kevin Eastman shopping with his kids, Patton Oswalt, Olivia Munn and several others just hanging out, talking with the staff plus there's always autograph signings scheduled.

And lots of comics, old and new! :)
