Nice! I've got the originals and the Eclipse reprints and Pogo Parade, but a good thick hardcover would STILL be a nice addition to the collection. Now if Fantagraphics would just finish Our Gang and somebody would do Fairy Tale Parade and Peter Wheat...

These are the first pages from issues 20-25, the Pat Patsy & Pete feature started earlier but these are the only 6 installments Kelly did. As best I can tell, Kelly did 14 stories for Looney Tunes: 6 Kandi the Cave Kid, 6 Pat Patsy & Pete, a one-shot story called King Hickory Stickory and the Dragon, and one Bugs Bunny story. Other than the first two Kandi stories I've got all the Kelly issues . (Overstreet says there's a Kandi story in issue 6 but there isn't; it's correct on 3-5, 8, 11, and 15).

I didn't really need an upgrade to my Pogo #3, but this beautiful file copy was too good to resist. Love me some Racine Wisconsin stamping. :cloud9:

And here's a Walt Kelly book I didn't win. But not for lack of trying; the final price surprised me and I was expecting it to be high:

By the way, today (the 25th) would have been Kelly's centennial! Here's a tribute a friend put together for the occasion:

What a wonderful tribute to Kelly. He was a voice of reason in confusing times. His daily strip contained the political satire that had only previously been achieved by the political cartoonist of Punch and other magazines of the day.

And he could turn the strip into slapstick vaudeville comedy to entertain millions.

He also told wonderful children stories filled with soft images that endeared him in the minds and hearts of young fans.

When we discussed Kelly in BZ's thread, many people posted their issues of Pogo and Fairy Tales. When we discussed Pogo in the GCD chat group, Jerry Bails said he had them all...
