I don't think there is any way Iron Man is the core of the Marvel Universe.

 

Robert Downey Jr. is the foundation for the movies, but that has pretty much nothing to do with the comics. Spiderman and Wolverine seem like much more likely candidates for that.

 

Spidey and Wolvie don't have the infrastructure to be the core of the Marvel Universe.

Yeah, but he doesn't have gadgets like Iron Man does, or the cash, or the pad, or the interstellar adventures, or the hot babes. And Tony Stark is probably a much better dancer which bodes well for Iron Man 3 compared to Spider-man 3.

What are we talking about here? That the comicbook character Iron Man is now the core of the Marvel Universe? Or the movie version is now the top dog (shrug)
