That is probably the best cover in the series..and it is in nice condition too. Well worth the cost of grading.

As a kid, I was always a little confused by the two different names

for what appeared to be the same comic strip. It wasn't until the early

50's that I read in a copy of "THE COMICS" by Coulton Waugh about

the classic lawsuit, the two versions, etc.

I was never confused about it when I started reading the strip since there was probably only one version at that time . I got confused when I started to collect. Coulton Waugh explained it to me too.

As far as I can remember, this was the biggest prize I even saw in a comic book.

(BLACK DIAMOND WESTERN #14, September 1949)

The winner was Albert B. Manski from Boston, MA

The Horse ended up being named Reliapon.

Manski had a letter in Crime Does Not Pay # 44. Here it is transcribed with the fact that he was in the military at the time:

"Dear Editor:

CRIME DOES NOT PAY Comics.

The magazine with a cause,

Fights man's evil habits;

Stresses allegiance to laws.

This fine publication

Merits respect and support

By pointing right from wrong

And bringing justice to court.

Sincerely.

Sqt. Albert B. Manski, 31204106

Company A, Hq. Bn. AGFRD# I

Ft, Geo. G. Meade, Md."

Ran across this story in SUPERMAN #58...it's one you don't see to often.

a pretty good story too which was repeated several times in the Superman adventures.

Also contains a brief recap origin of SUPERMAN and mentions his "Fortress of Solitude".

Grade is in!

Lower than I would have expected. Any problem with the back cover or interior? hm

Still a very nice copy, though. :D

No...the back cover is in good shape same as front cover and the interior pages

are completely intact.

This grade seems to be about the average grade CGC gives my collection.

CAPTAIN AMERICA #64 had a great group of villains like KING LEER on the cover

and stories with SPARKLES and THE ACROBAT.
