Or maybe this one...you don't see too many of them and it is a favorite of mine.

I don't see why you would slab that one. The value will never be high and even if it is 9.0 you won't get your money back for a funny animal comic that isn't by Barks. (shrug)

Thanks...I'll keep that in mind.

Ran across my CAPTAIN MARVEL JR. #54 again and wondered how many

survived from having their covers cut-up? I only see two copies in the CGC

census.

I don't know but my impression is that these sorts of covers weren't actually very popular. I don't think most kids went to the trouble of doing the cutting -- as you didn't.

There are a couple of Barks FCs that have these sorts of covers and you don't see them with the covers actually cut up. Of course, it may be that copies with the covers cut were more likely to be thrown away.

I purchased this animated Mickey Mouse in 1979 at the Comic Book and Sci-fi convention in Houston. It was already cut up.

I sliced up this Four Color 291 and set up the animated version back in 1958. My brother, who owned the comic, was not happy. The sliced up version was thrown away and replaced by a new clean uncut copy many years later.

My new Magic Hourglass cover was animated after I made a copy of the front and back covers. It makes me dizzy which is why I didn't show the animated photo

of The BLACK CANARY.

Looking over my MARVEL MYSTERY covers...sure is a lot going on.

Some of Schomburg's early Marvel Mystery covers were relatively simple and some more complex. The complex covers must have been more popular. I always suspected that brother August might have added a few guns, ships and airplanes.

I think the actual story was in the next issue of Marvel Mystery.
