the books are not similar at all, other than having female leads, and a story about dead people. But everything does these days that isnt from the big 2.

 

RR is pet cemetery( crossed with blair witch and the movie legion)

 

Revival is more unique.

 

I found the story of RR to be predictable and mundane, until issue 9. But, moore does a better job of developing the smaller cast and getting you to care about them all and have a good sense of them as people. The character development of RR is quite good, and post issue 9, the story starts to take the foreground and it's actually quite good.

Could work out great.

Revival airs last and everyone reviews as the best of the three.

You know whichever studio / network promotes it will make sure that it is reported that Revival was created first and that they just wanted to have the imitators release their works first.

RR = 2011

Revival = 2012

 

I still think Revival would make for better television viewing than Rachel Rising. The story seems to lend itself to serialization (Floppies/Television) better, whereas Rachel Rising seems better in condensed (TPB/Movie) form.

the shill warnings went a long way in protecting people from getting hosed. I hope a fake account is eating it, and having to bid retract.

 

If it was a fake account, they've chased that particular book before when it was listed - I guess everyone will just have to wait and see if this one pops up again to learn the truth.

Edit: Not saying its the same seller, but pretty sure the serial number is the same.

The link in my post was relevant to a suspected shill account bidding on xgurlyxgurl auctions; that same party had made an offer to jjeanius (the link above) There was a connection I made where a 100% xgurlyxgurl shill/bidder has made an offer to a boardie, I thought perhaps it could have helped the people here figure out if the first live auction by xgurlyxgurl was being shilled.

 

The book itself (prior to the first xgurlyx auction, was the subject of a public thread where hulk44 bought a 9.9 then switched over to buying the 10.0. The remaining 9.9 is the book jjeanius listed & refused this offer on - same party as xgurlyxgurl's shill bidder.

 

After declining the offer, jjeanius said he sold the book off e-bay to someone who ended up being xgurlyxgurl who hosted the auction where the previously unsuccessful "offerer" was high bidder on a live auction. After the auction was won by the shill, the book was relisted by the same seller and then sold to some other party.

 

To correct what cujobyte said, it's not jjeanius/court's book based on what's been posted in this thread. If it's for sale, give hulkie a link... ;)

Understood. My main reason for posting was out of concern that the new Boardie selling it may indeed be xgurlyxgurl, therefore proving the shilling theory.

 

Apologies for using your post, I just went back to find a recent reference to the shilling of that book on eBay.

I have no clue what the topic of discussion is regarding this particular book, but the photo from that eBay auction you just linked looks exactly the same as the photo on the sales thread that the noob has on the Copper/Modern selling area...

 

I'm not a betting man, but I'd put money on it that it's the same exact photo.

No apology required, I just didn't want the ownership thing to be confused (as it was) since the post and the link was fairly old so I just wanted to throw some context around it so people didn't assume the wrong things.
