Lance Rentzel aka Gerry Ross

Against my better judgement, I followed a lead from Kijiji. The person used the name Lance Rentzel (lancerentzel64@gmail.com) in our email exchanges.

"Lance" recommended I go and check out his books at the Polaris show which went on this weekend at the Sheraton Parkway in Richmond Hill.

When I got there, I saw Gerry Ross. I understand "Lance" is a nick name from high school.

I might be alone in being concerned about a dealer needing to use an alias/nick name as opposed to the name he's known by, but I thought I'd bring this to the forums attention.

If he had said he was Gerry Ross would you have went?

Interesting that he mentions Frank Miller Dark Knight #1 being worth $30 back then as a good investment. Does anybody know what the book value of it is now?

The "Lance" listings were from someone alleging to be living in the Mississauga and/or Oakville area. Wouldn't be first time I've found people using a listing location different from the location where they live, but these are GTA locations and pretty far from Montreal.

Or just over $36 in 1986 money. Score!

Still a cool book, and for me, it marks the era of the last new release comics I bought fresh from the lcs stands.
