mysterio Posted November 26, 2012 Share Posted November 26, 2012 Gosh people complain on here a lot. Variants are good for the hobby as they allow other artists to make their worthy contributions. Also, variants are there simply to be an alternate to the normal cover, so if they are too much; then just keep on walking by them. A thread devoted to the bashing of variants, wow! Plus 60.00 for a variant is cheap as I have paid about 125 for a variant before, but that was out of me wanting it. People like something; they pay for it, easy to understand. G Variants are good for the market up to the point where oversaturation and fatigue occurs. Once that corner is turned you have the potential for selloffs that could lead to market collapses once everyone who is hoarding quantities of variants tries to unload at once. That can sour a generation of folks to comic collecting at a time when we can least afford it, as print runs are already a fraction of what they once were. We've already seen this happen, and I can totally see the present situation as being ripe for a serious correction that could have serious consequences.
